Because he forgot to tie his shoes, or perhaps he was in the middle of the road and truck veered off course due to him being there, and it hit the power station.

Well, since the people are already infected it the apocalyptic world I think the bite works like this;
If it's a large bite then the person dies of blood loss and since there already infected they turn after death.
However if the bite is a scratch, for example Lee's, then the infection goes into their blood stream and 'mutates' if you prefer that term, the infection within them and cause them to become a full on walker. In a way everyone is already a walker, only the beginning of one.
Either that or the 'infection' transferred from the walker is like a snakes venom, attacking the nervous system and every other part of the body, causing organs to shut down and killing the person, and again they turn because they are already infected.
Maybe 'it's not the bite that does it' after all. But it's just a theory.... GAME THEORY! Oh wait....

It's been explained that EVERYONE is infected. But your immune system is enough to fight it off. When a bite comes in though, it is so filled with infection that it slowly overloads your system.

Yeah, I think Walker Bites are like snake Venom. Only Not instant.
Slow Acting Poison I'd say they are. And Amputating Works to stop it. like real bites from dangerous animals

No, guys...
Everyone is infected. Everyone dies when they turn. The bites don't turn you, they kill you. Say a walker bites your arm, it slowly spreads to your brain and basically shuts it down, and you die. Since you die, you come back a walker.
