Been playing the game pretty much all day non-stop, it really is fantastic. The gunplay is excellent just like I hoped it would be, it's not like the underwhelming gunplay of GTA V at all, and of course a lot of the other aspects of the game are great too. It's strangely fun to go around town greeting people and escalating fights with those who try to insult you. Shooting people's hats off is kind of fun too, even if you do it by accident when you're trying to shoot them in the head.
It seems a bit weird that there are so many Irish characters, even outside the O'Driscoll gang, but at least they all have decently accurate voices, I guess they're trying to make up for the awful Irish stereotype character from RDR 1. It's a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.

The hand to hand combat is so good. And I love that you can get your ass beat pretty easily. I beat some dude up in the hotel after he was smacking around Karen and he fucked my shit up at first. Arthur's face was super bruised and he knocked the gun out of my hand.

Oh, and sometimes when you shoot someone in the head with a shotgun, their head just fucking explodes, which is awesome.

Having to actually cock your weapons is just so immersive-ly fun. Before he can fire the next round Arthur has to chamber it and it's... just such a small thing but it's so Western and satisfying that I fell in love with it. I imagine it makes the effectiveness of Double-Action and Semi-automatic weapons that much more apparent if/when they appear later in the game.

This game is so fucking COOOL. No major spoilers, just minor spoiler from a hunting mission. The Revenant (1899) *Colorized* I fucking gutted that grizzly after it clawed the shit out of me, skinned it then spent 20 minutes riding back to camp only to find out that Pearson didn't take the legendary skin. So, then I decided to sell it at Valentine. Riding out of the camp, I took in the beautiful scenery for the 70th time until about six members of the O'Driscoll gang came out of nowhere and gunned me down. I respawned without my legendary grizzly skin on my horse. It was all for nothing.

I know I'm playing a dangerous game with this but the memes on the Red Dead Redemption Reddit are top fucking notch lads, 10/10 material.

I'm at chapter 3 so there was another small time skip so my Arthur looks like a straight up hobo by this point. Long hair and a colossal beard, gave him a black duster and fancy ass vest so he looks menacing as fuck.

Also if you double tap L1 with your revolver you do a flourish when putting it away, just in case anyone didn't know. Sadly doesn't work with dual wielding.

I've been desperate for this information since the moment I picked up the controller. Really, I wanted to do this after my first duel but didn't know how. <3

The new gen graphics have benefitted Abigail more than anyone else. All of a sudden sheβs a fuckin dime piece.

This game is too fuckin' immersive. I did a little exploring so I could uncover more of the map and I came across a small house by a river. I decided to check it out see if anyone was inside. I heard a father and a son arguing inside the house. Basically the father was scolding the son and saying like he should do more for the land or whatever. I snuck in and planned to just rob them blind but as I moved across to a different room, the son saw me. His dad just literally walked in front of him, drew his gun and warned for me to leave. I walked up to him, smacked the gun out of his hand and then beat him to a pulp, and then knocked him out, throwing him against the couch. I, then, punched his son as he cried out for his dad, demanded to know where his money was. It's always in the chimney. I took about 200$ from the chimney as the son just cried that his dad was all he had. I didn't kill him, tho? I just knocked him out. I pulled out my gun, aimed at his head and saw a red dot. That must mean he's still alive, just unconscious. Then I just shot him in the face, and got the Red X on the screen. Now he was dead. The son cried out again and then I tucked my gun away then kicked his face in, since he had seen my face. I shot the son right between the eyes as he laid unconscious. I had just killed some random family. I searched through the house and I came across this letter. And I immediately felt terrible. The fact that I could just show up at some random dudes house, I'd learn quite a bit about this small family. And then I snuffed out any opportunity for the son to see his mother again. There was a canoe right outside, I decided to use it so I could get to the other side of the map, it's not like those two were going to use it. I hopped in, and it suddenly started sinking halfway to land. Arthur drowned very quickly. Karma. The new gen graphics have benefitted Abigail more than anyone else. All of a sudden sheβs a fuckin dime piece. Tfw you're a better father to Jack than John is.

Might have to wait off on buying red dead 2. Gotta replay red dead one. It's been six years since I played it. I still remember most of the characters but just to be safe.
