General Thread for anyone who wants to post about their replays of The Walking Dead. I've already started mine in anticipation of Season Four. Just finished Episode One today.
So
It's a little boring, but otherwise still holds up pretty good. I'm really glad that Telltale decided to ditch puzzles in later titles, and overall move closer to making Interactive Stories than Videogames. I know that's still kinda a controversial opinion, but if anything replaying Season One only strengthens my opinion.
Aside from that though, yeah, it holds up pretty good. It's slow, especially for a premiere episode, but it's not that bad honestly. the characters are great, the choices are still pretty great, there's some awkward dialogue that most has to do with choices not being taken into account but overall it actually flows better than the premiere episode of Game of Thrones. I honestly don't have all that much to say, it's still a solid premiere episode. Probably gonna move on to Episode Two tomorrow.

I managed to pick up the Telltale Collection from my local video store for seven dollars lol. Meanwhile it's like 30-35 dollars everywhere else.
Gonna play it soon. I'm kinda glad to play the remastered compared to just playing the original again. I hope I get some funny new bugs too.

I always found the first episode not weak but easily my least favorite. It was a great building block for greatness and introduced us to these now iconic characters.

Just played Episode 1 (remastered)
I think the lip syncing got worse.... I dunno, just something I noticed. I haven't played the original S1 in quite a while tho... (besides the anniversary streams I did) I am PRETTY sure they made Lilly's tits bigger in this... just... throwing that out there. Also character heads were freaking out a few times, meaning they just suddenly jolted downwards or upwards or whatever.
And there's also some new camera angles and new facial expressions so that's nice. It has the current Telltale UI and I heard 'Take Us Back' isn't played at the end of Ep.5 -- lame.
Gonna play episode 2 tomorrow.
Episode 1 gets a 8/10 from me still.

Replayed Episode 2.
Yep, the lip syncing is definitely worse. Lee still shoots upwards when he first asks Carley a question at the motor lodge. Larry still has no eyes in his idle animation when you're talking to Lilly under the gazebo. The minor bugs are funny but they're still there lol.
Gonna give it a 9/10 -- such a fantastic ending and Kenny begins his villain arc that lasts two entire seasons.

I'm replaying them as well, and I'm gonna start episode 5 of season 1 today.
Ratings: Ep 1: 8 Ep 2: 9 Ep 3: 9 Ep 4: 6.5
I really do not enjoy episode 4 at all, it's so god damn long and boring that I had to take a break half way through. Though it does have some really well done parts. Also this is the first playthrough where I've told Kenny to go fuck himself when he refused to come with me, and holy shit Lee straight up says what I'm thinking every time I play episode 4 and Kenny doesn't go with you.

Just gonna say that the remastered collection is actually quite buggy. Some of your choices may not carry over.
EDIT: Just a heads up btw, not to discourage anyone from playing the remastered collection

I hope with Season 4 (and future seasons of other series'?) Telltale manages to update the exploration in a way that doesn't make it feel really slow and like a lot of filler between the good stuff. I always feel the need to take a bit of a break halfway through each episode of Season 1 bc it's just so slow.

Yeah that's the main problem with episode 4, walking around the house, the sewers, the streets and Crawford combined takes so fucking long. A smaller hub every now and again like the resort in AHD is the way to go.

Beat episode 5 and 400 days, episode 5 is as good as ever, the pacing of it is perfect and it's still as depressing as ever. 10/10. 400 Days is solid, introduces a lot of great characters who TTG decided to completely waste but ya know, and all of the stories are interesting enough but nothing that special. 7.5/10.
Now onto season 2, last time I replayed it I didn't hate it as much as I used to, hell it's fuckin' master piece in comparison to ANF, but we'll see.

Finished Episode Two.
Fantastic opening. Fantastic everything. Boring as heck everything in between. Still probably gets a 9/10 from me though because everything that isn't a hub is really, really great, and the choices are all fantastic and super tense. Every time I replay this episode I go back and forth on the final choice, as well as who to give the food to. I gave food to Clem, Duck, Mark, and Larry this time around, and I did steal from the car.
Anyway, for me personally I think Duck's death is almost a bit more tear-inducing than Lee's, so I'm really looking forward to next episode! /s
(seriously though, just working off of memory, I do kinda think Episode 3 is the best one)
