Mike is also like half of the best non episode 2 scene in that whole season. The raccoon scene in the museum was great.

I think we're definitely going to see Mike if we're gonna be bringing back characters. They didn't scrap his determinant death last minute for nothing.

I'd instantly leave with Mike in s2 if that was an option, instead of being stuck with 2 psychos and a plot device.

That honestly is one of the biggest problems facing Season Four... they killed... everyone. Like, the lead writer seems like she's really smart and passionate about the project, Emily Grace Buck, the lead designer, just finished up on Batman Season Two which was phenomenal, and we're out of the shadow of Bruner so hopefully no more rewrites and delays... but even with all of that going for it, what is there even to build off of? Thanks to them blowing up what was supposed to be Season 3 and then stitching it back together again in less than a month(I still honestly can't fucking believe that happened) Clem had been ruined as a character for most people. Hell, even the people who did have a "badass" Clem, they're probably disappointed she didn't remain that way bc Telltale did a total 180 on her initial characterization in ANF after all the negative feedback. So outside of the uncritical super fans, I don't know if anyone is still invested in Clem as a character. AJ has always been a weak plot device, so I doubt anyone cares all that much about Clem's mission to find him either. Everyone from Seasons 1, 2, and 3 are dead or determinant with the exception of Javi, but the way his story ends there's not much chance we'll see him again. Plus, I feel like the uncritical super fans(the USFs, if you will) gave Telltale so much shit for making Javi the main character even though he was, in reality, the sole bright spot of Season 3 that they don't want to bring him back. So, we're pretty much going to have a completely new cast, which, idk, kinda takes a lot of the bite out of "The Final Season!", right? Like, we get to see where all of our favorite characters ended up!-oh no wait they're dead. Yeah, I don't know, Enemy Within has been fantastic, and it seems like Telltale is getting better again as a studio, but I'm just not sure if TWD is salvageable at this point.... My biggest issue is the same. You may have good writers that care, and a better company not willing to fuck itself with rewrites. But the series is so mangled that you don't have a lot to work with.

Sidenote: how many good writers/designer/directors are left? I know Nicole Martinez is the lead writer on TWAU2, Emily Grace Buck is lead designer on TWDS4. I assume Eric Stripe is still working on Minecraft related stuff?(that's probably gonna be their cash cow to support more risky projects which, honestly, I don't mind that much, it's easy to ignore). Ryan Kaufman, the lead writer on GOTS1 is still around, right? Not a clue what he's working on. It looks like Nick Breckon was the lead writer on TWDS3 initially before they scrapped it and replaced him with Brad Kane, but is he still with the company or? James Windeler... Is he new? Because if so, then he's done a fantastic job on Enemy Within for an initial project, but I feel like he's been around for a while. I feel like Kent Mudle and Jason Latino are still with the company. Just, quietly directing episodes I guess. That one girl that went from a cinematics artist to director for the TFTB finale, is she still around? God, this is the lamest, most creepy fan-girly thing, keeping track of a studios writers and directors. In my defense, I'm currently procrastinating to avoid writing a progress report for my Creative Writing Seminar... The people weren't subtle. Remember that Melissa Hutchinson interview where she clearly wasn't in love with the game? Second, Minecraft being the Cars of Telltale is fine. If it gets other projects made, and only if. Third, don't feel bad about the checking of people's status with the company. You'd think I'm crazy when it comes to Paige O'Hara so don't worry.

I'm really enjoying the Telltale discussion as of lately. Bruner leaving even kinda brought the forum back

So how long even was Telltale's "death"? Almost everyone thought Tales from the Borderlands was a masterpiece, and that finish in late 2015. It took a while for everyone to get on board, but I think we can safely say the rebirth started with Batman: The Enemy Within, which premiered Summer 2017. So, that's less than 2 years of Telltale being "dead".
It... honestly felt a lot longer than that, right?

I think it's a bit early to count eggs before they hatch. Let's see how Wolf 2 and Dead 4 do. Honestly, I'm not feeling so hot in regards to Dead 4, but I'm optimistic for Wolf 2 though.

Honestly, TTG death started before got ended though. The last two episodes of GOT were just horrendous, and Tales, though it somehow pulled through, went through a shitload of rewrites right in the last few episodes, and has huge holes built into it from the start that nobody knew what to do about.
