Huh, didn't realize at first that this was a variation on the Bruce Theme from Season One. That's actually really cool

CEO of Telltale replying to someone asking if Season 3 was possible lol it's the only season they've delivered since he took the job 6 months ago, isn't it? :P Oh, wait, I guess... minecraft? Uh, that's not much competition Either way, it's great that they're thinking about it. I think the fact that a lot of big-name reviewers and writers(io9, Newsweek, etc.) have been asking for a Third Season is probably gonna help push them towards making a Third Season. This season did really well critically among non-gaming websites(another feather in my hat for the argument that Telltale should really just rebrand as making Interactive Stories/TV/Whatever bc most of the gaming outlets seem to consistently give Telltale flak for not having gameplay, while other outlets just take it as a given that these episodes are more like interactive tv), and I saw some stuff on the Telltale Forums that it sold about as well as the first season - which is to say, not great, but not bad either, a moderate success - but who knows if that's reliable.

It sold awfully on Steam with only around 80k total owners but there's a good chance it sold much better on console.

Is that quote from like, a couple years back where someone said they only need to seel about 100k episodes to start making a profit still relevant? If I recall that was after the hiring spree. And yeah, I heard it did much better on consoles. Still, there's maybe a chance that, since it was received so well critically, especially by places that are seen as being more "legitimate" they might bring it back for a Third Season just for that even if it didn't sell great?

Pretty sure Season 1 didn't sell too much better but it still got a second season.

Considering they made episode 5 split so much that it could be 2 different episodes despite the seemingly low sales, I'd say there's a decent chance they'd be willing to make a 3rd season as well.

Pretty sure Season 1 didn't sell too much better but it still got a second season. It sold massively better on PC, though it has been on sale quite a few times since launch.

Season 2 continues to be astonishingly not at all bad.
From what potato and TC have been telling me as they watch me play, choices actually do change things up a bit which is refreshing. Most of the characters are, if not likable, at least not bad, at least as far as I've seen.
Choices:
Told John to be himself Didn't warn Selina Confessed to being the mole
Also I really like what the season has done with minor throwaway characters so far. Like Chip and Timothy. A dozen lines, only appear in one scene, maybe two, but they help you, and they seem like real people, so when bad things happen to them you feel bad. At least a little. It's such a minor thing but I feel it adds a lot to the story. These are the people Batman is fighting to protect. Again, a very small thing, but the effort put into it is much appreciated.
Moving onto episode 4 tomorrow.

Choices: Told John to be himself Didn't warn Selina Confessed to being the mole Wait, what about Detective Bullock and Tiffany? What were your choices with them? Yeah, I never thought Chip and Timothy would leave such an impact, even though we only get to see them in such short time.
