Literally my first thought I imagined after that announcement was this:



My next thought - Nicole Martinez was in the announcement video. She was on the writing team for S1 (I'm 100% sure she wrote the finale, don't remember if she had a full writing credit or just an additional writing stuff in other episodes), so if I am to buy Season 2, she must be a lead writer. If they'll put someone new in charge or - God forbid - that Adam-whatever-his-nave-was who wrote most of ANF, then it's an insta hype killer.

Another thing - some of you probably won't believe me, but the other thing that came to my mind was... Game of Thrones S2. I mean, look at it this way:
- TWAU ended in 2014, no sequel announced; it's the middle of 2017, sequel announced for a 2018 release;
- GOT ended in 2015, sequel announced immediately; it's the middle of 2017, the game is nowhere in sight;
- Minecraft ended in 2016, sequel announced last month, it's already in release.

But most of all... with where Telltale is now, I feel like this is clutching at a straw. It turns out TWAU is the second most profitable franchise in the post-TWDS1 era and they're simply going back to it. If - I guess - sales of other titles weren't so underwhelming, Telltale would never go back to TWAU.

To sum up - am I hyped? Only barely. Until we find out who's on the writing team, I'm cautious.
