Honestly I wasn't a fan of the ending. Everything was just solved way too easily once Ashi freed herself and got Aku's time travel powers. Like, it just... happened. And it was great seeing the army come to save Jack (And the Scotsman's entrance was truly a magnificent sight to behold) but man, the final fight with Jack and Aku wasn't even remotely tense. They went back to when Aku was a lot weaker and already beaten and Jack just... finished him. It wasn't satisfying. No real climactic battle between these two timeless adversaries. Plus now that Aku's dead and Ashi winked out of existence because of that it means that none of the characters we came to love over the course of the series exist anymore. Da Samurai, the Spartans, the dogs, the archers, the Woolies... The fucking Scotsman.
And all the Ashi shit led exactly to nowhere. I liked Ashi at first, yeah, but once she just became Jack's fuck buddy she lost all appeal to me. Because that's all she ever was in the end. She was just made his love interest to give him some happiness before it was yanked away for like the 50th time in the series. And then he just becomes happy again in the last minute. Jesus, they needed more than 10 episodes for this. It was all just so quick and rushed.
This is just my thoughts here, but I don't think he ever should have made it back to his own time. He should have been stranded in the future, defeated Aku, and then had a short little epilogue about how he was roaming the Earth tracking down and destroying the last of Aku's minions. He never gets to really reclaim his old life, but he freed the world and continues protecting the innocent in the future. Maybe it's more bleak but it feels a lot more fitting with the initial tone of the first half of the season IMO.
Also Jack and the Scotsman never got a real good chance to interact. What we did get was great but goddamn there should have been so much more.
All that said I don't think I hated the episode. I enjoyed it more than the one where he hooked up with Ashi. But fuck, it sure as shit disappointed me.

I don't think they were all necessarily deleted from time itself. There is still a chance that they could still be born, just without Aku being around and could probably have more better lives without Aku fucking their lives up for shit and giggles. The Scotsman would probably still be Scotsman, just with a wooden leg instead of a gun for example, the dogs aren't sentient but atleast they won't be enslaved and impaled by Aku, the Archers won't become the Magic Well's slaves and etc.

Like everybody else Jack met in the future she was only born because of Aku, in her case it was only just a little more direct. Without Aku around, all the people he killed will be alive (Which is objectively good) but then they'll all have descendants who never existed in the previous timeline, and so on and so on. Everything is completely different, including the people who are born. None of the characters we know will ever be born or anything. The whole timeline just no longer exists, and neither do the people in it. It's basically just like Jack waking up from a dream now. Sure, he'll remember them all and that's just dandy, but it doesn't change the fact that now none of Jack's adventures have ever actually happened now. If he'd just straight up killed Aku in the first episode and never gone forward in time this is exactly where he'd be. Aku influenced the direction of the world, killing millions and shaping everything in his image, for millennia upon millennia. You can't have him not do that and expect anything to be even remotely similar.
Everyone's gone. And the show didn't even acknowledge it aside form how it pertained to Ashi.

Just a note to Rock, but Jack will likely meet The Scottsman again, and in fact, the Scottsman is likely already born. The show only took place like 20-30 years in the future (remember, Jack's father was still alive in S1E1, after the time jump), and Scottsman Prime was in his like mid to late thirties. Jack will be his father's age when the Scottsman is in his prime.
Goddamn, and if this show had like 2 or 3 more episodes, this could have been perfect. Though to be fair, I don't think they knew what to do with the episodes they had.

Nah man, the show is at least hundreds of years in the future. It was long enough to develop space travel and exploration on the scale of Star Wars and long enough for dogs to evolve into sapient, speaking beings naturally. He meets the Grand Master monk in Season 3 who is said to be at least centuries old, and who was a kid when Jack went to the monks for training before being thrown into the future. I think the dog archaeologists said something about Jack being hundreds or thousands of years old in the second episode too, but I can't quite recall. But the future is way farther away than just 30 years. Scotsman's gone too.

Jack's dad is alive when Jack first steps into the future, despite him being a normal slave, with no special guards, and no special treatment. Plus, Aku was shown in S5 to be able to pull beings from other dimensions. Remember the episode where Ashi was looking for Jack? We heard people talking about their home dimensions at one point. Aku could have simply pulled all of these robots, and scientists, and centuries old beings from other dimensions.

actually, before the last episode aired, i watched the very first samurai jack episode. jack spent, like, 20 years or so training around the world after aku attacked the village, so when jack finally arrived back, his dad was old and enslaved by aku. then after jack freed him, he went to fight aku, and then jack was sent thousands of years into the future before he could kill him.

No, Jack's dad is long dead. He died an old man enslaved by Aku. After Jack is thrown forward in time his father never appears again outside of flashbacks and the two parter about Aku's origin. He's gone just like everyone else from Jack's old life was gone.
Jack spent 20 years training with various cultures around the world while Aku conquered his homeland, and when he returns to vanquish Aku in the first episode he runs into his father as a slave in Aku's lair before actually fighting Aku. Then Jack goes to fight Aku and is thrown forward in time by Aku's portal and ends up centuries, if not millennia, in the future because of the portal.
