Welcome to Rimworld, forum. The game just recently got its latest update, and I had to get it, and what better way to play this game than with the forum?
Before I show you the characters, let me explain what you're about to see: First, their backstories. Take these as flavor text. The statistical implications have already been included into their stats listed. Flames are passions. Single flames are light interests, and double flames are heavy passions. Also, if you don't see yourself here at first, don't fret, as we gather more tribesmen, I'll be renaming them after some of us.
Okay, so I'm not gonna lie, I've save scummed a little bit. It just seems too anticlimactic for Sonic, our brave chief, to die to a fucking turkey. Or Megan to die because she ran out to save her dog from a grizzly bear in like the first half hour. I won't be save scumming in the future, but Jesus, that was dumb.
Because of my save scumming, I'm happy to say, the tribe's moving right along.
After escaping from the flames of their old village, the original 5 settled down, and began to build their new lives.
After noticing a grizzly bear eating Megan's dog, Alberto, I decided to get our walls up sooner rather than later. Within the walls, we already have the blueprints for the main meeting hall in the center, currently being used for temporary stockpiles, until we figure out a better situation. On the left are our living quarters, very neatly designed with expansion in mind, as well as a medical bed. On the right are our farms, soon to become our main source of food.
Past that grizzly bear, and a feisty turkey or two, the first part has been relatively calm. I don't expect the peace to last.
Dealing with this guy was easy. All we had to do was use Megan, our strongest melee combatant, as bait.
Then, we simply had Megan draw Jude into the firing range of Sonic and Carlos, our two crack shots.
However, once Megan drew close to our walls, there was nowhere left to run. And having Megan melee fight Jude would have left her open to friendly fire from Carlos and Sonic. Not to mention, the unfavorable angle would probably have seen Sonic shooting Carlos as well. So instead, I opted for a big dog pile on Jude.
It was over so quick, I didn't even have the time to think to get a picture of the dogpile itself. We then stripped and imprisoned Jude. See, in Rimworld, the primary way of gaining new tribesmen is by capturing your enemies, and convincing them to join your ranks. So in other words, Jude is to be one of our next forum members.
Look at him, in his little cell. Jude the little bitch. Unfortunately, as you can see by the "recruitment difficulty" number on the left of the image below, it'll be a while before he's one of ours. Shouldn't take more than a season or two, though. Also pictured here are the plans for our room expansions, which will allow us to rearrange the furniture, and give N8 and Rock the time together they deserve:
When the time comes, and the walls are built, we'll simply tear down the inner walls. These also aren't the last time we'll be upgrading the living quarters. Once we get stonecutting operational, we'll want to build our houses out of something less flammable for sure.
And then, in the middle of the night, a wild forum member appeared! Weird, right? Someone just walked up and joined the tribe. I mean, I'm fine with it. I could always use more forum members. Say hello to Jayko:
A heatwave happened. I wish I could say more about it, but basically all I did was just build like five primitive coolers, and just have people cower inside, unless they had work outside. If they worked outside, I'd just send them to do their work, and order them back home. It definitely impeded our progress though. We weren't able to continue doing the things that would help us further down the road.
Jayko got some pretty bad heatstroke from working in the sun, though.
That's all for now, but the next update will happen way quicker than this one. Now I'm not gonna be making (as many) rookie mistakes, so there won't be any more save scumming. I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone dies.
Also, it is SUPER possible that this tribe gets wiped. Like VERY possible. Like that's probably going to be how this game ends. With a tribe wipe. If that happens, I'm simply going to start another colony, with a new group of forum members, probably in a new scenario, too, until I just run out of forum members to use. Though if you guys want more, I could always start recycling forum members.
If there's any questions about the game, or you just don't understand what's going on, feel free to ask!
Okay, it's January 13, and I still haven't updated this in a while, despite playing Rimworld practically non-stop on my winter break. I know nobody really reads this, and that definitely doesn't help my morale in posting new parts, but I think the biggest reason I haven't updated this in a while is because I simply don't like playing basically vanilla Rimworld. I'm constantly adding new mods, and new gameplay tweaks as I go along. Currently, I have 5 or so quality of life mods on the tribe world, and that's it. As of my last mod binge, I have 36 mods installed. It's really hard for me to go from the fun and exciting world of mods, to the forum world. Especially considering all the bullshit that comes with deactivating mods.
Any of you who do read this, would you be opposed to me starting a new world, with all the new shit I've downloaded? Or would you like to see the tribal world play its course?
