Honestly, pretty solid episode. Sure, it has it's moments, and the first half was kinda boring, but hey, overall, I enjoyed it. The ending was pretty damn good.
Choices: -Promised to help Kate -Killed Lingard -Romanced Kate -Tripp lived -Blasted Joan's face
Also, CONRAD LIVES BITCHES
Conrad my boi
6/10

What was the AMA answer that hints towards that? Though it shouldn't be a bit shock I suppose. I just went back to check the reddit AMA, and it's actually different than what I remember. Oh well, looks like Conrad is gonna live through S3.

The direction of this episode seems to be better than the previous ones. Anyone thinking the reason might be related to Bruner leaving? EP3 was developed while Kevin was still in charge.

What's sort of upsetting is Javi deserves so much better than this. He's a pretty solid protagonist. A little bland perhaps, but I like him.

I've just finished playing. Need to go and get some sleep before going to work, so I'll post more of my thoughts tomorrow. All I can say right now is it's evident that Telltale tried to fix the stuff that fans complained about earlier... but the thing is, they've completely destroyed the integrity of the story. With everything that was established in Eps 1-3, nothing that happened in this episode made sense - most of the story so far this season was invalidated in the matter of minutes. All that comes to my mind when I think about Ep4 is...

Before her death, Kate spent her last moments thinking that nobody in her life cared about her anymore.
Good.

Good.
She finally realised the truth.

Can someone explain the Kate hate? I mean, I don't outwardly like her, but I don't understand what makes her so bad...
I mean, David's the fuckin' pussy that ran away to join the Army after all. She stuck by her stepchildren when he didn't. Sure, she's an annoying desperate-to-be-cool pothead, but other than that, I don't get it.
Or is this just the token "female character to hate" of the season?

In episode 1, TTG went out of their way to portray Lilly as an antagonist, before making her try to redeem herself later. In S2, Jane was literally Crawford 2.0, and also a really unlikable character on top of that. I dunno why Kate gets any hate though. She seems alright.

She's the main factor in a forced romance arc that a lot of people have no interest in.
Also her eyes are weird.

To explain my 0/10 score:
I've got my own way of thinking of the 0 - 10 scoring scale. 5 is okay. 4 and 6 are below or above average, 3 and 7 are bad and good, 2 and 8 are terrible and great, and then 1 and 9 would be horrendous/awful/whatever and phenomenal/fantastic/whatever.
0 and 10 would be mostly symbolic. So for example, I'd give any of my favorite games a 10/10 simply because they're my favorites, they stick with me. Alternately, any games whose awfulness stuck with me would be a 0/10. But, it also makes sense to me that a 0/10 should apply to a game that is so bad I can't/won't finish it.
That was Episode 4. Not because it's the worst episode, although honestly it might be. It's a contest between it and the first episode at any rate. But because the ending just fucking killed any motivation I had to finish the episode, and I'm honestly not sure if I'm going to go back and finish it eve.r If I do, it will only be so I can talk about it here, so, you know, doesn't count I don't think.
Pretty much, the whole final scene was frustrating me. The whole episode had been boring aside from the Clem flashback(which just made me fucking pissed that they killed Kenny in a fucking car crash), and then we got to a scene that may as well have not been written by actual people, but just put together by a computer using cliches. Cliched dialogue, a terrible cliche villain... except, not even that, because none of the pieces fit together, and it also needs to make sure it stomps on any sense of choice. The whole thing was one of the worst written scenes.
Then the Tripp/Ava choice. You know, maybe it could have worked if I thought the writers were any good, or if I was invested, or... I don't know, anything, but when it happened, it just made me mad at the writers, at Telltale. It pulled me right out of the story and got me pissed at the people who fucking designed that choice. Not at Joan or the situation in the story, but at Telltale.
Put it this way, I was angry, sad, and upset when Negan killed Glenn, but ultimately, I was still sad glenn died, and angry at Negan, and upset at the situation. In this? I was fucking pissed at Telltale for a bullshit choice that killed one of the only "good" characters, I was pulled out of it.I went back because, and this time was baffled at how much worse the writing got as things escalated. Only half listened to what Joan said, then shot her in the head, died to a qte, and quit. Shut the TV off and just laughed at what a mess the whole thing is.
So... yeah. Honestly guys? Not sure I'm going back to pay it to talk about it here. There's other things I could be doing, so... yeah

Yeah, shooting either your best friend or your girlfriend, real redeeming. Jane was so goddamn unlikable, I still cannot believe Telltale thought it would make the final choice hard even if you hate Kenny.
