Lol, the episode took me 45 minutes to complete. It's more like TV now. TV seasons have 10-16 episodes at least, not 5. If Telltale had decided to expand this season to 10 episodes and reduce the playtime to 45 minutes, I would have been fine with it. But this is just... too little content for the money in my opinion.

Remember when this game series confronted you morale dilemmas?

I keep telling myself that maybe we blew this shit out of proportion, then I remember the flashbacks...

Well, you sort of dramatize the whole thing. I never thought I'd say that line about TWD: Season 3, but "it is just a stupid video game, after all". It's not that it is horrible; it's just that Clementine is completely out of place in this and sort of pulls the whole game down with her presence.

It's okay. Way too short. Feel like I could really love that characters and the story, but it's not given even time. Jesus is pointless, Clem and her flashbacks continue to be the worst part of the story. Thoughts:This one suffered a lot more from being shorter, I think. Honestly, Tripp, Eleanor, Kate, hell, even Gabe to some extent, they all feel like interesting characters I really like... but that's just the impression I get from what little time there is to interact with them. Seriously, each episode needed to be an hour longer, at least half and hour. This one took me barely over an hour, and I still took my time. Looked at everything, walked around... It really suffered from how short it was. I mean, a longer run time could have meant more scenes with what seems to be an interesting cast of characters(I mean, since I didn't go with Tripp in Episode 1, Javi's barely had any scenes with him). Or, they could have maybe been used to make Clem's flashbacks actually mean something... I mean, I'd still prefer Clem not be in it at all since Telltale clearly doesn't want it to be a continuation of her story, and they weren't up to the task of actually having choices matter, but whatever... God, I really just kind of hope Clem dies by the end of this so that if we get a Season Four, then it can just continue Javi's story. Clem, again, was the worst part of the episode.
Sorry for the wall of text there, not sure how to break it up, I'm just kind of rambling here. Anyway, onto the other thing...
Jesus being in this is totally pointless. Just... completely pointless, and actually a detriment to the experience. I'm only interacting with him the way I am because I know who it is because I read the comics. It should have, and 100% could have been a new character, and then it would be much easier to distrust him or be suspicious. As it is, his inclusion in the story is just a pointless tie-in that, just like Clem and her flashbacks, really hurts what is otherwise a very good, even great at times, episode/season.
And I do mean that good/great thing. I mean, honestly, this will never be Tier 1. It's already made so many mistakes. It might not even end up being better than Season Two for me because of how many mistakes it's made. But at the core, there is something good here. Something great. A really great protagonist, an interesting cast of characters, what has the potential to be a good overall story... But no matter what happens, it's just another case of wasted potential, with only small moments of greatness shining through.
God, that's so disappointing to type... Choices:-Told David Off. I really didn't expect for Javi to say that. What a fucking idiot. Also: like, 4 times over both episodes I made a choice and Javi said something totally different. These choices are kind of hard to gauge, never used to be a problem(aside from GOT Ep 5) -Told Gabe to leave. I mean, he really couldn't have helped and he was just getting in the way. -Surrendered to the New Frontier... Not that it seemed to matter much. Seriously, if that's how Conrad acts if Javi surrenders, what happens if he opens fire? Or is surrendering the wrong move there? -Tried to talk to Jesus. -Trusted Jesus.... solely because it's a character I know. The choice would have been much harder if it wasn't Jesus. -Trusted Ava... Which I'm assuming doesn't matter. Clem probably becomes part of the New Frontier no matter what. -Didn't shoot Conrad. Honestly kind of a hard one... I really didn't want to kill the guy, but I didn't trust that things would go well. -Told everyone to lower their weapons. I mean, what, we're going to shoot them when they're behind a gate? And they have Eleanor? Yeah, no.

And they have Eleanor? Yeah, no. To be fair, 400 Days was real short, and every character had VERY limited time. Only difference was that it was built around it. I haven't seen episode 2 yet, but judging from Episode 1, it seems like they're really going for the grand, adventurous feel of S1, but (again, in episode 1), the characters all have such little significant screentime compared to Javi and Clem that I just can't care when, say, one of them randomly gets killed for shock value. Well... I do care, but it's more like annoyance. Well hey, that could've been a cool character. I liked them, but whatever. Like, like imagine that, in S1E1, what if Duck was ACTUALLY bitten when Larry wanted to throw the Kenny family out? And what if he just bit Katjaa on the neck? Would you REALLY care? I mean, woah shocking dead child and mother aaaaaghh, but who cares? You never saw how perserverant Katjaa was, you never saw how silly and upbeat Duck was, you never saw how much Kenny loved them. You would be watching that pain, not living it, like S1E3 did SO well. They'd just be names to forget. Just like a certain character in S3E1 is (I'm sure y'all remember the smiling frame).

"We need to go back and bury Francine!" "We need to go to Richmond." "Yeah. Fuck it. Let's go."
What? Where did that come from?
"Lower your guns" "Javi, man, don't do that" "Do you trust me?"
You've known each other for 5 minutes! What the hell!
"Get Out" "You're stuck with me" -> Clementine runs and holds the door while the bald chick barricades it "I'd say we make a pretty good team."
What? Why? How? When?
And people were complaining about the writing in Season Two.

"Want to come to my camp, Clementine?" "Yes."
-> Has the mark

Seriously, Telltale? God, this game is infuriating.

So whatever ending you choose in S2 makes Clem a brat. And whatever you do, she ends up being a member of the New Frontier. Although I like seeing her being a badass, but... that's not the Clem I raised through Season 1 and 2. Telltale, how hard is it to make dialogue changes when Clem meets Javier for the first time that bases on your S2 endings?

Does anyone besides me predict just what would happen between David and Javier? I could just see both of them fighting all the time and then the romance subplot kicks in between Kate and Javier and then David goes "what the fuck javier" and then the New Frontier falls just like any other group.
David blames everything on Javier and then "yeah, you're right" + Clem fucks everyone up because they got incompetent for no reason and then the season ends with Clementine being crushed by an asteroid from space. /s
