I just finished the story of Quantum break, and it was awesome. It was really cool how we could control time in various ways. My favorite time power was Time Rush. The gunfights during the stutters and everything is frozen was cool, especially when I kill the Monarch guys with headshots and they're just frozen with blood spilling out of their face. But then there are these juggernauts and these motherfuckers are tough.
During the points where I could rewind things to get through obstacles just reminded me of Max Caulfield's time rewind power. But the difference in that is Max can rewind everything around her for a few minutes, while Jack can only rewind whatever he focuses on and it's not permanent. It was funny with the "time is like an egg" theory Will was trying to say, and everyone keeps saying "Why is there an egg?" I also saw plenty of Alan Wake easter eggs, including this TV in the beginning that showed "Return" and I'm thinking, "What the hell is going on with you, Alan?". I also like how Jack Joyce was narrating the events that happened as he was being interviewed by that Monarch lady, similar to how Alan Wake narrated in his game.
There were some characters I started to dislike at first, like Liam Burke and Charlie Wincott. but as I progressed through the game and watched the live action episodes, I actually grew to like them. I felt bad for Liam when he killed a man in front of his wife, Emily, and how he just embraced her. Even though that girl, Beth Wilder, was on my side, I didn't exactly know what to make of her. But what really blew my mind was how she had given a journal about her life to her younger self and that she was the one leaving those graffiti paintings I've been seeing everywhere. It sucks that she was shot by Paul, and even William had a point when he said that everything that's happened in the past was set for everything that was about to happen. But the way Jack whispered to her in the stutter saying "I'll come back for you" and the last cutscene ended with Jack having a junction moment made me think if there was gonna be a sequel to this.
I like the twist of how we decide as the antagonist of how we want the story to form during the junction points. The choices I made in those junction points were about how I'd want the villain of my story to be like. I also liked the quantum ripples during the live action episodes.
JUNCTION CHOICES:
- I chose to start the PR campaign. Firstly, because I didn't want that girl Amy to die. Secondly, I'd rather have the city looking for me rather than starting riots. But at one point, a civilian had snitched on me, then another stutter and gunfight started, and I fired a few bullets at the guy who called me out.
- I chose to have Paul focus on Business. He seems like the kind of guy who'd focus more on his plans to me. I also wanted to see Jack get some face time with Martin Hatch, and it worked out well when he left me a key to the cuffs and a loaded gun.
- I chose to trust Sofia. Hatch was undermining Paul while Sofia was making treatments for his symptoms. It made sense to have Paul start distrusting Hatch.
- I chose to surrender to the Chronon Syndrome. I mostly did it for Liam. I could tell that he was gonna die no matter what and I figured if he was going to die, I'd rather he didn't die by my hand. At least he was still by his wife's side in the end.

At least he was still by his wife's side in the end. Glad you enjoyed it! Time Rush was my favorite power too; really useful when it came to dealing with snipers in later levels. JUNCTION CHOICES:
Chose the Hardline route: I was trying to make the choices that would end up benefitting Jack the most, and even though it took me longer to figure out what Monarch was planning, it was certainly easier than having to constantly hide from people. Plus Nick is fucking hilarious. Reminded a lot of Barry from Alan Wake.
Had Paul focus on Personal: I figured that PAul not doing the speech would cause mistrust and chaos at Monarch, so that would give Jack some more potential supporters. (Note, if you do this, Beth ends up rescuing you instead of Hatch)
Trusted Sofia: Thanks to me finding several clues throughout Act 3 that pointed to Hatch trying to overthrow Paul, I was afraid that once he was done with Paul he'd go after Jack, so I kept an eye on him.
Surrendered to the Chronon Syndrome: Had the same reasoning you did. The way I saw it, either I was gonna end up killing Liam in a boss fight I didn't want to happen, or he'd die a hero.
I'm really hoping that if Remedy decides to go ahead and make a Quantum Break 2, they don't pull an Alan Wake and end up making a half-assed spinoff (even though TBF Alan Wake's American Nightmare WAS pretty fun to play even though its story sucked). Also this game gave me alot of hope that based on the way the live-action episodes were done, this is they way I hope Telltale's Super Show ends up going.

One of the first negative reviews I've seen of it, but from what he shows I can see pretty much everything he mentions. I'm gonna hold off and get it for a tenner in a bargain bin in a few years.

Not much point in being a game reviewer if you give every single game a 10/10.

Not much point in being a game reviewer if you give every single game a 10/10. Completely true on the scale of liking the game or not. Don't always agree with the overall score, I feel he was a bit nitpicky with Bioshock Infinite, and his main problem makes absolutely no excuse, but he did give it a 9, can't really complain.
