Blues and Bullets is an investigative noir story based game inspired by Telltale, I haven't played it yet but I am going to pick up the first episode soon and I'll post what I think here when I do.

Okay, this looks interesting, I must confess that I really like the Noir genre. Something about trenchcoats, fedoras, and gangsters has always appealed to me. Plus, it may as well be called Sin City the video game, because fucking hell does it remind me of that graphic novel/film, which is TRULY never a bad thing. And its alternate history a bit, seeing how the main character is Elliot Ness from the looks of it. I must say, I like what I see, it might not be up to Telltale quality, but it certainly interests me a lot more then Life is Strange, and ISN'T done by a French studio for once! Hurah!

I just finished the first episode, it took me just under 2 hours, and I gotta say, it's pretty great, I'm curious to see where the go with the whole creepy cult (that's not a spoiler, you see it literally in the first minute of the game). The story deals with quite a few themes, mobsters, a cult and even whether you start drinking alcohol again, although I wont go any further into the story to avoid spoilers, the choices seem like they'll have an impact but we'll need to wait and see, mechanics wise it has investigative puzzles which whilst not massively difficult, still nice to have, and it even has a thing where you have to pick up and look around objects in order to find clues which reminds me of LA Noir, the other main mechanic other than dialogue and QTE's are shooting sections, which essentially is just an on-rail shooter, which wasn't really my kind of thing but it was a nice change. My only real problem is that the game ran like ass for me and didn't even look that great, my frame rate went everywhere from 18fps to 50fps, and there's no V sync so it got really annoying at time. Although I did like the style of the game quite a lot, where it's all in black in white other than red. I think that's all I wanted to say. My choices: Also you get the best bonus for finishing the episode (this isn't a spoiler but it's just in case people don't want to see it)

I know the answer is obviously no, but part of it reminds me of TWAU mixed with LA Noir with the artstyle of Sin City with some alternate history aspects, sold!

I still prefer Telltale's stuff, but this was still good, one of things I prefer about Telltale is it's more obvious what each of the dialogue choices are, where TTG has nearly exactly what you say this is more the tone you say it like just "Harsh" or "Sympathetic" also I prefer TTG's graphics. I can't say if the story is as good yet. Still in general the first episode is great.

Well good to know, because Life is Strange annoyed me a bit with the dialogue system, is funny really, pretty much all episodic games are taking Telltale's dialogue system except for one aspect. The part where it tells you what you will say, here they just show the response type, you'd think more people would take the entire system. Well whatever, its been a while since I saw a good Noir style game, and as I said I have a weakness for that style, so i'm on board!

There's some pretty nice visuals in the game, keep in mind this has everything bar textures on low, so I'd imagine it could look better.

Finished first episode and I liked it a lot. Way better than lis shite. my choices Was harsh with that guy in the diner
Got mad after the taunting
Asked AlCapone to give away his fortune
Drank juice
Was sensitive with Delphine
And I tried to save that boy in first scene and regret it. That last scene tho. Whole cult thing is interesting, I like it.

Oh my God, I love this so much. It's like True Detective(Season One) meets Bioshock meets L.A. Noire, and I gotta say, I love it. The game ran pretty good for me, and I absolutely love the art-style. Honestly, I think I prefer it over any of Telltale's series', even life is Strange(which, while I love the style, has shit animations. Everything was top-notch, although it ran a little slow at times, and it got me killed in two QTEs when the frame rate hiccuped, but it wasn't a big deal. One thing that this has going for it is that I love the characters. I mean, I liked The wolf among Us, but I could never really like any of the characters that much, which is why even though it has some absolutely brilliant writing, I still hold it below GoT and TFTB. The main character is likeable, and how they handle the choices is interesting. I also really like Milton, he reminds me a bit of John Coffee in The Green Mile... except, you know, John Coffee was some sort of magic healer and Milton is a criminal. Still. The voice acting is pretty good, too. I swear I've heard Ness' VA in something before, but I can't put my finger on it. didn't recognize his name when the credits rolled. The QTEs were good, and I honestly enjoyed the shooting parts. And while it didn't look like there was a way to fail the investigation and I could have gotten through via order of elimination, it was still an interesting part that I'd like to see more of. Really looking forward to the next episode, I can't wait to see where all this is going. My Choices: -Tried to help the boy escape. Regretted it in the moment, but i guess in the long run it was the right thing. -Showed the would be robber kindness. -Didn't put extra sauce on Dickon's burger. -Showed restraint(I assume you can't kill Capone, but what happens otherwise? Gun jams?) -Told Capone to donate his fortune to charity. -Made the deal with Capone(and by that I mean I didn't punch him in the face and mostly believed him and went along with it without any resistance). -Stayed Sober. -Tried to tell the truth when I could to Alice and Delphine. -Was rude to Delphine/Chose the case over Delphine. -Chose the bear over the doll. -Chose blond hair over brown hair. -Chose the left symbol over the right...

If I remember right, Ness is voiced by Geralt's VA from The Witcher. And if don't show restraint you shoot the shit out of his piano and he comments on it later.

It was bugging me because I just couldn't quite place where I'd heard him before.
