Very true, I mean, you HAVE to tell that guard that you were doing his mother, YOU FUCKING HAVE TO! Because it's pretty much what the real Vasquez would have done damn it! Amen to that! Also for the record that line was priceless, oh and you totally need to throw in the Rhys pieces line, its just to perfect.

Some throwaway thoughts on the intro, of which I think we can officially say this game has featured some of the best in video game history. 1. I will never, ever, ever, EVER not get goosebumps when "A Telltale Games Series" first pops up. That is my personal guarantee. It will always happen, 100% of the time. 2. Obviously the Fiona snarling at Rhys and Rhys puking on August scenes will be forever pinpointed as the highlight of the intro, but I have two different bits that tie as my favorite. The bit where Fiona first starts manning the ship, all jittery and nervous, when she looks back to Scooter for reassurance: It's such a small thing to include, but it really captures exactly who Scooter is perfectly. He's ridiculously supportive and caring and exactly what you need him to be in the moment. Fiona was thrust into a situation completely unfamiliar to her and Scooter provided instant ease just by being his upbeat self. Then, once he's done his job, he settles into a normal guy when no eyes are on him. Someone just like you or me in that spot. A guy that's bracing himself, thinking "please oh please let her get us there in one piece, this is so freakin dangerous." Fantastic facial design by Telltale at the end bit. Made for such a great exchange. And the bit with Finch and Kroger. Yeah, it's humorous because he's a big tough guy that's scared and looking for someone to hold his hand, which is usually defined as childish. But it's a really nice touch to humanize a couple of villains as characters that clearly have a long past together and are entirely comfortable with one another. Again, a support system. Tells a story with a short five second clip. Maybe I'm just a soft sucker. I love those two bits.

Can I just say, I am utterly shocked that Scooter went in the way he did. He's an established character, who's been around since the first game. I was legitimately shocked that he would go in some little side game like this.

I watched the credits afterward specifically because I was convinced there would be a short little scene showing that he survived. But nope. It's still a bit hard to believe that Gearbox would let Telltale kill off a character from the main series like that. I guess that just shows how much faith they have in TFTBL.

I felt from the get go that Gearbox wanted and gave Telltale full permission to flesh out their shortcomings on the character/story development side. I mean, we were shown to be messing with Handsome Jack's AI in the reveal. That's some fairly hard-hitting material to work with. Athena was fleshed out as someone who was hardened by years of training and trauma, but ultimately caring. Brick and Mordecai were shown to be...basically ruthless mercenaries, giving an alternate perspective to the heroic viewpoint you assume in BL1 and BL2. Scooter unfortunately got the "round out a character's arc by killing them off" treatment.

Giving existing characters more characterization is still not quite as... severe as outright killing one off is. Scooter is gone, for good, and Gearbox okay'd Telltale to kill him off in what is essentially a small spinoff game. Not that I'm complaining. I'm glad that Gearbox gave Telltale this amount of creative freedom and trusted them to do right by their characters. IMO their faith was well placed and I think that TT has done a bang up job with all of the characters from the main series.

Why the fuck would anyone ever do that. I'm hurt just by looking at these screens. Why do you care about Gortys and not about Clappy?

Why do you care about Gortys and not about Clappy? Cute VS Annoying Useful VS Useless Lol, no. If you say Clappy is annoying then Gortys is the same for sure. And Clappy is not useless at all.

Pretty much, that is one reason I didn't flat out cry, because part of me kept saying, "Nah, Gearbox can't just kill him off." I would love a statement from Gearbox confirming that, but then again, they will likely just resurrect him again for Borderlands 3.

So, if Vaughn is with Rhys when he goes to get Vasquez's face, during their conversation, Rhys will mention that it will be another story to tell to their kids when they become millionaires but Vaughn immediately says that he doesn't want to have kids and Rhys looks shocked for a moment. And in episode 2, Vaughn said that they will tell stories to their kids when they become rich. Either Telltale forgot or this is a sign of foreshadowing that Vaughn doesn't want to have a normal life anymore and wants to stay on Pandora to become a bandit/Psycho
