Mortal Kombat 11 looks sick, just not feeling some of the character faces and how X-Rays don't show muscles/bones anymore.

So on a whim I picked up Dishonored: Death of the Outsider just to see how everything ended, and finished it not long ago. I liked it... kinda...
You play as Billie Lurk from the first game's DLC, teaming up with Daud once again to kill the Outsider. As far as plot goes it's actually decent, a good step above the main game's story. I felt Daud was used well, and he's still the best character in the series (Or really the only one, given how thin most of the others are). Tons of neat details are revealed and new things discovered about the Outsider, the Void, and the more cosmic horror side of the game which has always been my favorite part of it. Also, instead of having a static mana pool your magic automatically regenerates, at a decent rate too, so you can spam your new powers without worrying about running out of potions.
There are less levels, only 5, but each one is larger than the ones in the main game and has 3-4 side objectives called Contracts to do in addition to your primary goal. The rewards are pretty awesome as well so it's worth your time to do them, but some of them can be a pain in the ass because... well, I'll get to that at the end.
Level design is more of a roller coaster this time, the lows are lower (But still alright) but the highs are so damn good. This has arguably the best mission in the entire series: A bank heist, an infiltration of a veritable white collar fortress that puts any previous bank robbery in video games to shame. Sorry Payday, but this place has about three layers of defense. All the usual Dishonored stuff, like guards, colckwork soldiers, walls of light, but also electric floors and doors that have to be opened remotely. You have three separate options just to get inside, but you also have to hunt around for what you need for each one. For example, I went with the roof entrance where I dumped a ton of laudanum in the vents to put everyone to sleep before my infiltration, but to get that laudanum I had to track it down and buy it at the Black Market, steal it from an auction, or use my powers to disguise myself as a bidder and actually participate in said auction to get it and the rest of some dead man's estate that had been seized by the bank. I did that one. So, three options to get your materials for one of the three entrance options. Hot damn. And then inside you can kill everyone like usual, skulk around, or walk by everyone who is fast asleep. You can steal the codes off the security chief and use them to lure people around the bank with microphones if everyone's awake. For the vault you can bring it to two places inside the bank or drop it through the floor into the fucking sewers. You can rob all the safety deposit boxes. Use powers to impersonate workers. It was a one woman heist movie. At the end you get a cool sword made of evil void shards for your troubles on top of all the money you make off with. I loved it. The other levels aren't as good as this, but I'd say they're still up to par with the main game most of the time.
Now that we've got past the praise, I'm going to tell you what I hated about it: They got rid of the Chaos system. That's right, they stripped out what could be argued as the series defining feature and I have no clue why. You can kill as many guards as you want but the only variations in the ending are from a binary choice you get in the last level. That... takes away so much from the game. Dishonored is a series where choice matters, not just good/evil dialogue choices but your choice of how to play the game will affect how it ends. The quick and easy route of murdering everyone, or the more difficult higher road of evasion and pacifism? In previous entries that mattered, and there are even differences if you do the unmarked "Mid Chaos" where you kill a lot of people but not a WHOLE lot of people. Characters would change their dialogue and actions, in this game Corvo and Emily said different things based on Chaos level too. It's always been admittedly more on the ham fisted side, but this is like taking away the time limit from Dead Rising: It's a core part of the experience. Here it's gone. So your minor targets on the way to the Outsider don't really have the lethal or nonlethal options. You don't even really have to do anything with them, you can just steal their MacGuffin and leave. Technically nonlethal, yes, but not satisfying. There's no reason not to use lethal force all the time. I still went nonlethal but it doesn't feel the same. Those contracts I mentioned earlier? Well, since there's no reason not to kill everyone you see they didn't bother giving them each a stealthy nonlethal way as well as the balls out throat-slitting way, and if you want to do them without killing anyone you have to get VERY creative. Trying to abduct a man in a bar, surrounded by 6 witnesses, who never move or look away or investigate the bottles shattering down that dark hallway is a pain in the ass if you want to do a Ghost run.
So I'd give it a 6/10. The level design is at times the best it's ever been, and other times it's about par for the series. The story is better than ever (Again, not saying much because this is Dishonored) but taking away one of the vital systems of the game hurts it badly. In comparison with previous titles very few things change because of your actions here and that ticked me off more than I expected it to. If not for the awesome bank robbery I might even rate this a point lower.

I loved MKX, my only complaint about the way everything looks in MK11 is that the characters totally blend in the background, and it can be hard to watch at times. I just wish they popped more. All in all tho, I can't wait to main Barraka.

Pre-ordered Kingdom Hearts 3.
I only played the 2nd game years ago, but I really liked how we get to explore and battle in the many worlds from Disney.

I wish I'd been posting on the forum more, but honestly, smash has been smashing all of my free time. I seriously want to go competitive in this game. Nothing feels quite as good as juggling people into rockets, slingshots, and turnips with villager.

Finally finished both KH: Days and Birth by Sleep.
Watching Days was a nice little break from actually playing anything. Going through it after KH2 is especially tragic knowing how Roxas' and Axel's storylines go. The diary entries were neat to read, and I got a neat little PS theme for finishing the whole thing. I might actually check the DS version of the game out later on, can't believe Chain of Memories was ported instead of Days.
Birth by Sleep is probably my favorite story in the series so far, with KH2 behind it. I got burnt out multiple times throughout the game, it's essentially playing the same game three different times. But I'm a huge fan of multiple-perspective narratives in which we get to experience the same day/events unfold with different characters. I got really excited seeing Terra/Ven/Aqua on KH3's cover, happy to know they're in it. The whole command deck gameplay was better than the card bullshit in Chain of Memories, but I still prefer the regular gameplay in KH1 and 2.
Got the 2.8 Remix and preordered KH3. I still need to watch Recoded before moving on to Dream Drop Distance, but I might end up watching cutscenes of DDD because I don't have long before KH3's release. I definitely want to do a playthrough of 0.2, though. From what I'm seeing, it's only a couple hours short.
I'm avoiding a good number of websites in fear of spoilers being leaked, it seems even Youtube has a few videos up.

Resident Evil 2 is good shit, surprisingly difficult too, like it puts RE7 to shame with its difficulty even on standard.

Alright so Resident Evil 2 is fucking excellent. I just finished Claire A so there's still Leon B. Let's start off by saying that there's a few things that I don't like about it. My major complaint lies in the OST. There's almost no music when you're playing with the default soundtrack. It worked in Resident Evil 7 because the atmosphere they were aiming for was way different, but Resident Evil 2 feels like it lacks some soul when no music is playing. Enabling the original OST in the options makes it a lot better and much more enjoyable.
Now onto the gameplay. The zombies are... though as fuck! They're bullet sponges in standard difficulty, and in hardcore... holy shit, sometimes you need a full ammo box to kill one. In the original they were also bullet sponges, but that's not my issue with them. Many times you're told to avoid them, but they literally can't be avoided if you don't have ammo. If you try avoiding them, they'll try biting you and even if you get far they grab you in a cutscene. If you're lucky to have a secondary weapon to defend when grabbed, then that's great, but you just lost it and the next zombie will inevitably grab you. I got stuck in one of the latest parts of the game because there were three zombies in a hallway and I had no ammo or herbs, plus I was in danger state. I was also playing in hardcore, which meant a single hit would kill me and I'd have to restart from my last save. I had to load a previous save, and still died a lot of times (around 10!).
The difficulty is also an important factor in how the game plays out. I feel like standard is way too easy once you expand your inventory. You don't need to worry about carrying too much items and you don't need to worry about saving too many times (since saves are infinite in this mode). The zombies are way more balanced than in hardcore though. I started playing in standard but decided to reset my playthrough since I wasn't enjoying how easy it became after the inventory expansions. I had ammo all the time and herbs. So I switched to hardcore, deleting my old save and this time choosing Claire as my character to play as (Claire A / Leon B is the canon way to play btw). Hardcore was way more enjoyable and challenging, thus also rewarding.
Now that I've talked about the bad, let me say that I really, really, really enjoyed this game. It's not perfect, at all. It has many issues. And yet, I had an awesome time with it. The game is challenging in fair ways (except the zombie grab thing which I despise). Mr.X is fucking terrifying and just hearing his steps in the next room gets me really nervous. The backtracking is probably my favorite thing, taking items from one point of the map to the other, opening a door, getting a new item and then going to the starting point to open something there. It feels like the original Resident Evil games in that sense. Playing in hardcore also means you gotta be careful with saving too much, as your saves are limited by the number of Ink Ribbons you have in your inventory. Similar to Madhouse in Resident Evil 7. The characters are great, way better than their original counterparts (I mean, it's obvious, modern cutscenes and technology make this possible). The variety of areas is great, although I have to say I would've liked more types of enemies.
Oh even though I don't like the zombies, I have to say I loved the bosses. All the boss fights are challenging, specially if you get there without much ammo and herbs (which is actually what happened to me in most of them). The final boss fight (at least on the A side) is AWESOME. It took me a lot of tries and I was really getting annoyed at some point (I died like 7 times or so?), but when I finally managed to beat it it felt soooo gooooood. Honestly, the entire final area is awesome. I don't know what else to say, aside from the fact that I loved it and I really encourage you to play it.
