It looks nice enough graphically, though it'll probably look shit on console like Batman did and I don't have it on PC, might buy all of TWD on PC though couldn't be too expensive now a days. Only thing looks off to me was the mouth sync, but that might've just been something to do with the stream and delay, who knows.

Ironically, the trailer was surprisingly good... until Clem showed up. All badass and style, saying that everyone she had is gone. Just great. When S2 ended I thought that Clem's story should end and she should either not appear at all or be a blink-and-you'll miss it cameo. The trailer proves that. TT should focus on Javier's story, which seems more interesting, and drop Clem altogether. I said that literally two years ago. Mostly on the note that if you keep using Clem, she got to die, and I don't want that. I also want some level finality, something TWD in general doesn't have unless its death.

Its funny that we didn't think much of Javier, and now he looks more interesting then Clem which seems like the weaker aspect. Well fuck, I've seen weirder things but still.

She's the Carl of the video games, she's unkillable.

Wow way to hate on a game's writing before it's even out you dick. Jesus, Clem looks like a stone cold bitch. Meaning, Jane. The worst nightmare comes true.

I think that the realistic lighting/shadow effects contrast too much with the inky comic outlines. They should've gone further in the direction of Wolf, where they embraced the comic sketch look even more (edit: and that also applies to Batman too). I think they should leave the photo realistic effects for franchises that would benefit from it more, like Game of Thrones.

They were trying to imitate the shimmering edges of an oil painting, but their engine isn't the best so the effect didn't look good. It's one of those concepts that was a good idea on paper, but flawed in its execution. If their engine is better by the time of Season 2, they might further refine the oil painting style to where it looks far more decent this time around.

No, I was agreeing with you that the art style wasn't the best.
I was saying that they had a good idea on paper, but that the execution of it was not the best due to the limitations of their engine - hence, "jagged edges" as you said. If they had a better engine, the "Oil Painting" art style could actually have been legitimately solid.

I don't think the plastic-y look is that bad. It doesn't bring me out of it, and for what we've seen, the overall art direction looks really strong.

Only thing that bothers me is the crazy shiny eyes, everything else is ok and I welcome this new art direction.
