This is an incredibly disturbing game form the creators of Contrast. Now, I'm going to be honest, I didn't really like Contrast as much as I thought I would. I saw a lot of stuff about it, and then was kind of disappointed by it, but this looks pretty cool, and despite Contrast not being as good as I thought it would be, it was still pretty good.

This is a kind of game I'd play.

Hearing a little more about it, I guess it's supposed to be a Rogue-like, similar to Binding of Isaac and things like that. You have to hide in plain sight, pretending to be happy, acting like the others do.
Not sure what the end goal is, but it sounds interesting.

I suppose is to get away from the city or something, based on what i read.

Contrast looked fantastic, not the best game ever, but man did it look great, this, well, this looks like it will be a jolly good-time (extreme sarcasm).

Contrast had a good aesthetic... and that's about it. Characters and story wasn't great, and gameplay was down right bad. and it was kind of buggy and unpolished to boot. Still, I kind of liked it.

Yeah I felt the same, can't hate a game that looked that great, and hell it's noir style 1920s Paris, that is awesome, but the rest kind of let's it all down, but still, can't hate it.

To my knowledge, Contrast took place in America, and it's not noir styled, it's vaudeville. And... I can't bring myself to hate it. The story didn't match the awesome aesthetic, and the characters were kind of bland, but.... you know. If anything, I hope this game has more polish. Can't say much about the gameplay, since it's going to be totally different, but Contrast had no polish to it, and it felt buggy even when it wasn't really. It just... didn't work well. This game needs to work well.

I knew it was not noir, but I said it anyway, shit, vaudeville is the word I was looking for, it embodied that style to a T, also I thought it was France specifically Paris? Could be wrong, it's been ages since I played it because again outside the visuals, there's not much else to remember.

Vaudeville was an American thing, and the game describes itself as Vaudeville, so I assumed it's in America. Plus, all the characters are American. Vaudeville is kinda similar to the stuff going on during the Belle Epoch in France, specifically Paris, but there's a few things that make it different.

I got to say, this studio has got the aesthetic down already, everything feels very retro. I loved the vaudeville style of Contrast, so I've no doubts I'll love the retro style of We Happy Few.

Yep, art style is going to be great, no question, it's everything else that is a bit of a question, but i'm sure it will turn out well.
