Okay, whatever, they're pop. I don't see anything other than pop getting played at the Grammys for one. Plus, the radio is infamous for playing nothing but pop 24/7. I listen to a classic rock station whenever I'm in a car, and they play the poppiest songs from thirty years ago. Generic rock stations play things like A7X (the poppiest of metal), and Kings of Leon. Then I switch over to the hip hop station, poppy shit there, too. Then the flat out pop station has the poppiest songs of all time. Only on the last station have I ever heard Imagine Dragons on the radio. 107.7 Alternative Buffalo is all alternative music(hence the name). They actually don't play much of Imagine Dragons, but they had the band on once for... something. Along with this, basically everything is against in the fact that they are an alternative band. And again, their music doesn't sound like pop music to me. I really wouldn't know how exactly to phrase why this is, but essentially, listening to alternative music, and listening to pop music(me not listening to much pop music, I'm not quite sure what pop music sounds like as a rule, but still), I'd say they're alternative. Okay. I don't actually care. I'm just saying that they're pop. Just how The Black Keys are pop. Simple songs, which all have a general sound, usually incorporating a shit ton of snare and synths. Imagine Dragons are a bad example of pop, though, because they have songs that all sound the same. I like a few pop artists, like Kanye West, who has great background music, 2Chainz who has some fucking hilarious satire, and Kendrick Lamar, who is so fucking cool. Then there are some decent ones, like Eminem, who is REALLY hit and miss. Oh, and Chance the Rapper, who's pretty good, too, even though some think he has a really annoying voice. You know what? Fuck it, listen to these songs. I put a few albums in here, so you don't need to listen to all of them. Just listen for a while. If you want to hear more of these guys, just let me know. Kanye West
2Chainz
Kendrick Lamar
Chance the Rapper

I've heard some of their music before, and I've never really liked rap. Also, I don't like the lyrics for the songs I did listen to that you posted.

Also, I don't like the lyrics for the songs I did listen to that you posted. Don't write off a whole genre. Let me try to give you a rap song you'd like. Plus, you didn't like the lyrics because one of a few reasons. A) You didn't get the cultural references (ie "Waiting on Kendrick like the 1st and the 15th") B) You didn't understand the satire (ie "She got a big booty so I call her 'big booty'" (seriously, I doubt an English major like 2 Chainz would ever seriously say this, it's totally satire)) C) Any sexual reference in a song is unacceptable to your elitist mind. (Don't know any good examples off of the top of my head, and too lazy to look) D) You've never heard a good song from these artists because the bad and boring ones are the ones that get famous (ie Swimming Pools (Drank) by Kendrick Lamar (even though that song should probably fall under B, due to it's context within the album it originates from), or Gold Digger by Kanye West) E) You've heard the bad things about an artist, and assume that he's an ass (Kanye West) Here's a song that follows none of these reasons to dislike music.

So Breaking Bad... good show, huh? I just finished re-watching it with my family. They were mostly unhappy with the finale. Edit, I was re-watching it, my parents and brother were watching it for the first time.

I never write off an entire genre except for dub-step. Fuck dub-step. I do like a few rap songs. As for the reasons, no I do not get cultural references, but aside from that... none of those really fit just because... they don't. I simply don't like the lyrics, it's just not my cup of tea. I really didn't like any of those songs. Not speaking about the last one, I'll listen to that now. Also, a rap song I did like(yes, I know it's about a video game, it's still good):
