Seeing as there are good number of people here who have played Alan Wake and/or Alan Wake's American Nightmare, I'm surprised that this thread didn't already exist. Anyway, I decided to make this as I'm going to try to replay both Alan Wake and American Nightmare, seeing as it's been a good while since I played either. But, for those who don't know about the game:
Alan Wake is a Psychological Third Person Shooter/Survival Horror game following a writer named Alan Wake. After Alan Wake becomes famous due to a very successful series of books, he stops writing, and only drinks and parties. After Two years of this, he and his wife Alice go on vacation to a small town called Bright Falls, however, a darkness lives in the lake that Alan and his wife are staying at, Cauldron Lake. Alice disappears, and Alan Wakes up some time later with no memory of what happened, finding pages to a manuscript that he apparently wrote that seem to be telling, or rewriting, the future. Alan tries to find his wife and get to the bottom of whatever happened while being chased by the Darkness and it's army of "taken".
Heavily inspired by Twin Peaks and the works of Stephen King(the game even opens up talking about him), Alan Wake is one of the best games that I've played, having some very interesting, unique characters, and a very unique story that you can't help but be drawn in by.

Alan Wake was the first true horror game I've ever played, and I'm proud of it. The story was very well written. And the gameplay always had me on the edge of my seat. I'm surprised it wasn't nominated for any GOTY awards! Was it?

When I first saw this announced in E3, I became very interested in this, and had been anxiously waiting for it ever since. I even remember watching the webisodes that became available as the game was nearing it's launch date, and the wait was worth it. The thought of reading a manuscript paper about something horrific happening and then see it actually happening while surrounded by pure darkness is terrifying. I really liked how Alan's voice is narrating throughout the whole game, and there were some moments that did scare me good. Being able to explore during the day is really the only peaceful moments in the game while it lasts. For me, fighting the taken starts off easy, but as you progress, they start getting bigger and scarier to try and overwhelm me. My favorite things about it is being able to slow-mo dodge when timed perfectly and nothing can hurt you at that moment, even if it is just for a split second. Another favorite thing I like to do? Drive cars so I can run over the Taken! Coming through motherfuckers. The one part that kinda sucks is after each episode, we lose everything that was collected up until then. I even played American Nightmare, and the Taken in that game are even freakier than ever, including "King Hillbilly". I enjoyed the story in this, and while I do wish that the ending of that was true, it has been confirmed that it isn't an official sequel to the story, and I am still waiting for the announcement for "Alan Wake 2". The arcade mode is also challenging. To this day, there are still 2 stars for me to achieve to gain all 3 stars in each of the maps.

So it's still a possibility, but it won't follow that idea. I'm cool with that.

Why, Remedy, why are you developing Quantum Break?! I want AW2 now! Perhaps directly after Quantum Break? If it's ever coming out, seriously when was the last time we got news on that game?

I've heard that QB was pushed to 2016, but don't remember the source of that information. Something about polishing the game etc.

By that I mean, it takes five years and gets delayed three times!

And gets remade several times. (I remember early previews where Elizabeth almost looked like a small girl ) I remember they went through several versions, the first version didn't even talk, and looked like a librarian. Then there was a version that kind of looked like the one we got, but with a slightly different hair cut and larger, oh you figure that part out. That version is actually in the game, at the very end on the far left side. Suffice to say, they went through a lot of different versions, but I got a feeling that Quantum Break is not remaking itself.

Well, when it was announced, AW had Alice dead and Wake was (presumably) supposed to try and resurrect her after he found out that whatever he writes comes true.
