Why am I not shocked your Commander Shepard was female... not that I am judging mind you, my was to, mostly because Jennifer Hale is a lot better then Mark Meer, I mean it's not even a contest, she just put more emotion into her lines.

Honorable mention: Link from the Wind Waker.
honerable mention #2: Jane. Even though she should have been the one to die in the lake.
10. Roland (borderlands 2)
9. Athena (pre sequel)
8. Bloody Mary (as an antagonist).
7. Midna (twilight princess)
6. Elizabeth
5. Gared
4. Talia
3. Carver as portrayed in episode 2. Fantastic villan.
2. Bonnie (excluding how badly the writers screwed up her character if you choose to cover Luke).
1. Luke. Essentially me in a video game, other than the fling with Jane.

Any chance to create a character I choose female xD Depending on the game.

You get a really good variation of OCs that way.

Wow we are more alike then I thought, I do something like that sometimes to switch up, and like you said, very good variation of OCs, I mean hell my Dark Souls character was female, and I do not regret a damn thing.

My Skyrim character was a Nord Female who had bright red hair and primarily used a bow, while my Saint's Row character was a beefcake white dude with facial scars and a beard. Also worth mentioning I had an orc in Skyrim once.

I usually play as male characters in games when given a choice. Then again, I've barely played any games that let you choose a gender for the main character, or customize them in anyway.

That is really funny, because my favorite Skyrim character was a Nord female with dark hair, mostly used an axe, and had a huge scar on her left cheek.

I should also note that I get immersed in the character no matter what gender the character is, which is probably why I do this and it never bothers me.

My top three are Ben Paul, Nick and Arvo, excluding those guys my favorite characters are, in no particular order:
-The Narrator (The Stanley Parable)
-Loader Bot (Tales From The Borderlands)
-Maya (Borderlands 2)
-Dr. Neil Watts and Dr. Eva Rosalene (To The Moon)
-David Young (D4: Dark Dream Don't Die)

Not that she's bad or anything, she's fantastic, but I liked the way Meer improved over the series.

I have been meaning to do another playthrough to see if that is true, I'll take your word for it, but Hale was great from start to finish, that and it somehow felt right having the voice of Bastila Shen, and Rosalind Lutece be the main character, I mean I don't know of anything else Mar Meer was in. PS, the amount of KOTOR voices in Mass Effect was awesome, I mean the moment I heard Kaidan's voice, I stopped the game and said, "Wait... Carth Onasi is in Mass Effect?"

Yes, he was Jacob Taylor's dad, and the creator of Grunt, AKA the greatest Krogan ever, a warrior so awesome, he had the honor of being voiced by STEVE BLUM!!!
