Fuck that ending. Fuck you Banner Saga, why did you make me go through that ending, you are the worst. Oh, and doubly fuck the trailer for Banner Saga 2. Major, massive spoilers: The final choice determines if Alette lives and Rook dies, or if Rook lives and Alette dies, though, I didn't realize until quite a bit later that this was the case. So pretty much, it forced me to choose between my two favorite characters, and to my knowledge, there's no way they can both live(which is odd, since I saw someone say they got the "sad" ending. I haven't seen how much it differs if Rook dies, but I imagine that that's also pretty fucking sad).
And the trailer for Banner Saga 2 has both Rook and Alette speaking, and both of them at the end saying "We will survive".......... Fuck that ending, and fuck that trailer. I'm going to be honest here, I did cry at the end of the game, so... that's puts this game in a pretty unique position. I'm not an overly emotional guy but.... Damn.... That ending. I'll have to go through a second time now.... Oh I won't judge you for crying at the end, Jesus lord I can't, I am starting to lose track of the amount of games I have cried at, fucking hell I cried in A DISNEY FILM! So I totally understand where your coming at.

About the sequel, if there's anything it should do, it needs to be way longer. The Banner Saga was about an epic journey across this world as people struggled to survive, and where the game ended was only just the beginning of this journey. Unless they plan to release them fairly quickly, future games need to be longer.
Also, they need to be a little less linear, or not give you so many characters, because when a character dies, then you have to fill their place with a rookie. The way the game is set up, it's really hard to level up anyone but your core group of characters. And it's makes resource management a nightmare, since "reknown" is used to buy things(including supplies), as well as level people up. And since there's no telling how long it will be to the next town, or if that town even has supplies, you've got to guess, and 4/5 times, me guessing resulted in people starving.
Here's the thing, both Rook and Alette are hunters. Hell, Rook starts the game as the Master Huntsman before leading the caravan, so why can't, when we make camp, send people out to hunt, with a chance of running into Dredge, so we'd have to balance risk and reward.
And experience and money should really be separate.
Also, when playing as anyone in the larger caravans, there were parts when you can actually organize large scale battles, unfortunately, that was kept to one chapter. There should have maybe been more of that, especially considering not much is known of what happened to Hakon and the Varl army after Chapter Five, when the game decides to ditch the multiple POVs and stick you with Rook.
In terms of gameplay, it seemed like it was just getting started, and then it ended. Considering that the gameplay has so much potential, they really do need to make future games longer, give the game room to explore that potential. As far as story goes, it was just amazing, and the choices were incredibly well done.

Yeah so... I'm probably going to be keeping two separate save files, one in which Rook lives, and one in which Alette lives, and I'd like to just copy over my first save and only change my last choice, then do another save where I'll start form the beginning again. And I'll probably play it again once Banner Saga 2 has a definite release date.

Huh, there's a free to play multiplayer version of the game called Banner Saga Factions, I might look into that but..... Like I said, I mostly played the game for the story/characters. I'm not too good at strategy.

I'm sure I would have if he died, but as it is, he only dies if you choose to kill him. And obviously, I didn't. I might have if he left no matter what, but going with him was also a choice. The ending for Walking Dead Season Two is only really sad if you're conflicted about it, and I wasn't. Or, some people cried at the dream scene with Lee, but honestly, I didn't like that scene, it just felt weird, out of place, even. Lee's fate in Walking Dead Season One was unavoidable, and since it's a choice based game, I doubt many people didn't like Lee, since they played as him and made decisions as him.

Yeah, I really hated that dream sequence. It didn't feel like my Lee. My Lee never had any doubts about what would happen to Duck, and refused to let Kenny do his bullshit. Duck was dying, and the sooner that Kenny realized that, the less suffering his boy would go through.
