So what do you think came first, the chicken or the egg? Considering that almost all organisms that reproduce sexually (and even some that reproduce asexually) produce eggs and that some of those organisms appear way before the first member of Amniota (let alone true birds) it's obvious that the egg appeared before the chicken. The real dicotomy would be to ask "which came first chicken or chicken/hen egg?"
