Okay, looked it up myself, it's games that make a social impact. So, yeah, This War of Mine, by a long shot.

So... Does anyone know what the "Games for change" category is? I mean, I said This War of Mine, because really, that'd be my #3 game of the year, so I just assumed it deserved it over any of the other games, but still... not sure what I said it should win... "Most Innovative, Most Significant Impact, and Best Gameplay."

Well, two of them I haven't played, but I figure it'd be hard to beat This War of Mine, and of the other two, one I wouldn't even remotely consider(TLOU: Left Behind), whereas with Valiant Hearts, while it was certainly very emotional, I'm not sure it's a game that makes you reflect upon yourself. Shows the horrors of war well enough for an adventure game, but This War of Mine places you into something vaguely like hell, and then says, "All right, you can either life a fairly good life by killing people and stealing their shit, letting babies die so you don't have to take risks, or you can be a nice guy and then everyone will bleed out from bullet holes, get sick, freeze to death, or die in some horrible fashion. And either way, there's a good chance that they might just kill themselves."
So..... yeah.

Never heard of two of them, Left Behind and Valiant Hearts aren't particularly innovative, Valiant Hearts has a significant emotional impact, and I'd still say This War of Mine has pretty good gameplay, better than the other two at least.

one I wouldn't even remotely consider(TLOU: Left Behind) I'm sorry, but I don't really believe that TLOU: Left Behind had any social impact(when I thought that'd what it was for), at least, a very miniscule amount compared to Valiant Hearts, and especially compared to This War of Mine.

Really only This War of Mine has any reason to win, seriously, a bit one sided you think? And you know what's real sad? It's not gonna win, simply because the Last of Us DLC is an option, god, I didn't think it could get worse then last year, but boy was I wrong, ugh... I can't believe 2012 was actually good now.

I didn't mind last year awards, but this year they suck. This hasn't been the greatest year for gaming, I miss 2011.

But that's the problem with that category- games don't even have a social impact. Not any more than TV and movies do, at any rate.

Well, the VGAs are tonight. While all the game nominations are shit, what reveals are you looking forward to? Last year we got the announcement of No Man's Sky, TFBTL, and GoT. Naughty Dog, EA, and Square Enix have confirmed to show off brand new games at the event.

If it was earlier than that, I'd gladly half-watch it while playing some Mario or something, but I'm not going to make an effort to stay up late just to watch the VGAs.

True, at least we get some good game previews, honest to god I still can't believe TWAU does not have more nominations, please gaming world, let Harrington win it! I love Clem, but she won it last time, let someone else get it!
