The inclusion of the diamonds is so retarded. Who gives a shit about diamonds, they're a dime a dozen.

I don't understand the point either.

Well... That was partially satisfying, and not so satisfying, depending on who you liked.

Pretty much, and my entire view of the season has gone down the toilet with it. I mean come on, i'm not complaining that it was predictable, but some of the things the characters did was just idiotic! They should have known better! It was really lame ways to get killed off.

SO BLEAK, MUCH SAD.
What a fucking BOMB. A bomb full of shit that was carried on a train that got into a wreck. Five massive shit takeaways:
1. Riggins. Fucking POINTLESS character. Just don't even include him. He didn't play one important role that couldn't have been played by Velcoro or Bezzerides.
2. Oh, no! Velcoro's message to his son didn't send! So upsetting! (For real, it is.) And so unbearably unnecessary. Pizzolato bludgened us to DEATH with theme of parental failure, specifically from fathers all season. That was the icing on the diarrhea cake.
3. Worst ending scene in the history of TV? It's in the discussion, right? I did not give a FUUUUUUCK about Frank's dipshit wife. She wasn't threatening. She wasn't strong. She wasn't interesting. She wasn't anything. She was wallpaper. Was I supposed to care about that new dynamic?
4. Pizzolato's feminist angle. Goes hand-in-hand with the final scene. Two women escaping from the carnage. Only it didn't accomplish anything. Bezzerides played the same role that every other female does in a show or movie. Escapes or avoids harm while the man faces a heartbreaking downfall and death. Same with Frank's wife, I guess? I dunno, I wasn't following her shit much. Side note: the Velcoro/Bezzerides romance was so badly forced. There was no sexual tension between the two before the end of episode 7. It come out of left field. Not even the five Tumblr fans of True Detective had shipped those two.
5. Just an indescribable mess of a story. WHO KILLED CASPERE? SEVEN EPISODES OF MUCK LATER: oh, that doesn't matter really... some wacko kids as revenge for some diamonds that got lost in the bog of convulution.

I'm still really angry over Velcoro's death.... HE WAS WINNING. He was picking them off. He could have killed them. And, hell, I could see him throwing his life away if the message sent, but how does it make any sense that it doesn't send, so he's just like, "Oh well, I'll just let them fucking kill me". I'll be honest, before the Velcoro/Bezzerides romance happened, I was suspecting it because of a few lines in.... Was in Episode 5 or 6? Anyway, I think that was well done. But I still don't much care about her or Jordan. Didn't care about Frank. His own greed got him killed. Oh fucking well. If you wanted me to sympathize with him more, maybe actually do something with his backstory of having grown up poor, rather than just offhandedly mention it a few times. Rust's daughter dying shaped who he was, it shaped his philosophies, and those philosophies drove his actions. I assume they tried to do a similar thing with Frank, but they forgot to make us care about his "tragic backstory", so it flopped. And yeah, Paul was fucking pointless. No payoff for his mysterious backstory, he had no role in the story.... What was the point of even including him, building up some intrigue, and then just killing him? Like, even if we don't compare this to Season One.... Season Two is a fucking mess. Not many likeable characters who all made idiotic decisions, a complete fucking mess of a main storyline, and a fucking awful ending. It's a mess, and I wouldn't have even watched it if it weren't for the first Season, it relied entirely on how good the first season was.

Glad I didn't watch this season. It seems it didn't go well at all. I'm just gonna stick with Rust and Marty thank you very much.

My teacher asked why he didn't pick up the assault rifle from one of the cops, NO IDEA! If it had been 30 cops, I would understand, but five? JUST FIVE? And he could have killed two more with that shotgun, it didn't need to end like that! Why don't you make it that he kills all five of them, but gets fatally wounded, and dies after the message gets sent? Is that to much to ask for? Clearly it fucking is, because dark for the sake of dark! Telltale! You are absolved of any wrongdoings in season 2 of TWD, because this took it to all new levels.

I have a nasty sneaking suspicion that Pizzolatto killed 3 of the 4 characters in this Season because some idiots complained last Season that no one died. Or, maybe he just wanted to have a darker ending for this Season anyway, and just fucked it up by making one character useless the whole Season, have the other's backstory not be explained well enough so we can understand why he died, and then completely fuck up the main characters death for seemingly no reason

Telltale is absolved of nothing. The only leg up TTG had on True Detective was that TTG had a decently clear direction the entire time. True Detective Season 2 had no idea what the fuck it was doing at LEAST from Season 1. That INHERENTLY means that people are good characters are gonna get fucked for no reason, and stupid bullshit is going to progress the plot. It's the only way you can raise the stakes when the foundations are so bad.

Fuck! Season 1 didn't need to kill one of the main characters to get across the points it needed, this didn't need to either, or at the very least, kill them off in stupid ways. Seriously, I really liked Ray Velcoro, but I felt only confusion and anger and not sadness. That is a massive failure when you feel confused and not sad when your favorite character gets mowed down.
