Yeah, Stalker is good, just skip over Clear Sky's, that is the weakest of the games and really buggy, the rest are good, Call of Prypyah and Shadow of Chernobyl are all great.

Clear sky is also hardest and most frustrating game in the series. They ironed out most of bugs though so you should still play it.

Because I remember it being really awful with bugs, I mean I would quick save, someone would blow me up, I reload, and suddenly everyone is friendly with me, they don't shoot, the trees fly away into the sky, and the game crashes, that all happened once.

Yes, with 1.5.10 patch game is pretty stable.

If you guys like metro series ,then i suggest you play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series as well. it's basically Metro but more open world. Some of the devs who worked on STALKER also worked on Metro, so no surprise there. I actually have the STALKER games, too.

Continuing my update on 2033 Redux, it just gets better and better. Like the devs looked at the original game and asked themselves "What could we have done better?" Some of the more lame late game character deaths have been changed up and significantly improved, and they've retroactively included new enemies from LL into 2033 with this. Also, they've recorded some more dialogue for a few of the major characters, and to continue the Ulman circlejerk from earlier in this thread, he's gotten a few new lines as well, which I freaking love. They've also really made the Rangers seem even more badass than in the original, somehow.
Essentially, the Redux is fucking awesome up to this point.

It makes up a little for him being moved to the background in LL. Hell, maybe he'll have a slightly bigger role in Last Light Redux? Probably not, but it's possible.

I haven't played Redux version yet(I only watched a LP of it) but i think some changes were unnecessary
-They removed the Panzer encounter in Trolley level for no reason -Simplified the button "puzzle" in D6.
Also Ulman was an asshole in LL. He never made a single joke and told Khan to shut up several times.

Also Ulman was an asshole in LL. He never made a single joke and told Khan to shut up several times. Ulman was cracking jokes left and right in the final level of LL. But... The problem was that he was onscreen for a grand total of 5 minutes during the entire game, and then he dies no matter which ending you get. He got shafted hard.

Gonna finish up my review of the Redux for both games.
First off, the god awful escort mission in D6 has been FIXED! Miller still walks forward more than is probably wise, but the amoebas don't spawn nearly as frequently and Miller can take down a couple on his own without your help. Didn't even come close to failure on my first play of that. The good ending is still pretty difficult to get, which sucks because I was hoping that they had made it a little more clear, but since it isn't the canon ending it isn;t too much of a disappointment. All in all, 2033 Redux was fantastic, and the changes in it help it sync up with LL better than the original did.
I can't say the same for Last Light Redux. The only advantage of getting the Redux version of LL is if you want all of the DLC which, honestly, is nothing extraordinary. One is a combat simulator type deal where you can get your score put on a leaderboard or something, another has you delving into a spider nest in a missile silo which, actually, is very tense with some great atmosphere. The rest of the DLC missions, with the exception of one, are more or less just... there. They're a nice little break from the main story if you want, but very small with not much replay value. The faction pack has you fighting off a massive Communist assault as a Nazi heavy soldier, infiltrating a familiar station recently taken over by the Nazis as a Red sniper, and scavenging the Great Library as a newly recruited Ranger. The Chronicles pack has you play a mission as Anna and one as Pavel that really have no bearing on anything other than just providing the player with something to do.
Now, remember that one mission I mentioned earlier? The one that was really great? Maybe it's because I'm biased or something, but the Khan level from the Chronicles Pack gives the true Metro experience. You have horror, suspense, action, and it actually fits extremely well into the narrative of the main game. You play as Ulman (There's the bias on my part), just as he crosses paths with Khan on a mission for the Rangers. During your journey with Khan, you get some insight into who Khan was before he became the wise old warrior we know from the game, as well as the level providing some much needed time in the spotlight for one of the main characters of 2033 (Ulman) who was demoted to extra in Last Light for no reason. This one mission isn't by itself worth buying LL Redux if you already have the original game, but if you don't have either version of LL yet, you might as well buy the Redux.

Yay, got my fresh copy of Last Light and the book yesterday. Goodbye, social life. LL Redux or regular? Regular, and from what you said, I don't regret not buying Redux. ...okay, Ulman mission would probably be enough for me to get Redux, but there was only thestandard version where I was buying the game.
