That part with those glowing blowing up shits really was terrible. I died so many times I almost rage quitted. But I decided to give it one last try and I made it. Still, fuck that part. The real problem in my playthrough was this russian guy you had to protect. I don't know how often he died That guy... right, Yahtzee Crowshaw said it best, "I gave up on the game when I had to protect a guy who was apparently raised by kamikaze pilots."

Lol, that's all too accurate, he literally just walked straight forward no matter what was coming at him.

Alright, so we've established that Ulman is the Ultimate Being and holder of the title Coolest Russian Ever. Any other favorite characters? I feel that Khan was awesome.

To continue our shoutbox conversation, Rock. Did you like Bourbon? I found missions with him really entertaining. He was an asshole, but his death was kinda sad.
Khan and Ulman are the best, though. Ulman saves your life, lightens the mood, has your back all the time, he can't be disliked.

I wish they did more on the ghosts, I thought that was too interesting to only get mentioned at like one part.

I loved Bourbon. He was a bit of an asshole, but it seemed to me like he warmed up to Artyom over the course of their journey and became a decent person, at least toward Artyom if not others. He was kind of like a mentor, in a way. He was the first guy to take Artyom up to the surface and the first guy to take him through the more dangerous Metro tunnels on his own. I did feel sad at his death. I've heard in the book though that Bourbon was a huge douche.

When we got separated on the surfaced, I got nervous. He had lots of experience and I still didn't know much, so I wanted him to watch my back up there. He also had some good lines. I wish he lived a bit longer, just to see him interact with Khan. Except that Kamikaze stupid shit, I also liked Miller. hee choose to help Artyom, even after the others decided not to, that's saying a lot 'bout him. I never used up more ammo on just one demon, than on the one attacking Miller.

In fact, he's one of the few people in the game who remembers the surface before the war. His backstory or something said that he was in the army back when Russia was still the Soviet Union. Now you have to be a badass to be that old and still survive in the Metro. Also the way he kept getting pissed at Ulman's jokes was hilarious, almost as funny as the jokes themselves. I remember being terrified that he'd die from his wounds after the demon attacked him. Metro has some great characters.

Might as well post this here, which is a song based on Metro LL.

I wish Artyom would talk in game rather than the just in loading screens, the one sided conversations people have with you can be a bit weird.

I do kind of wish that they'd kept his original voice actor from 2033, instead of switching it up for Last Light. In 2033 he really sounded like a timid, scared man who had no idea what he was doing. In Last Light he's more gruff and unflinching, which I guess is understandable, but I enjoyed the more vulnerable/afraid Artyom of the first game.
