My favorite weapons were the machete and the Silenced pistol.

The knife is by far my favourite weapon. It swings very fast, and you can throw it at people and hope to kill them with it. What more could you want?

Well, some news from the game. The Hotline Miami facebook page posted this: +1 (786) 519-3708 ext 10 And if you call if, you get this message: vocaroo.com/i/s1eBXuZ4mzkiI'm assuming this means a March release date, and also helps confirm my theory that part of the story will be about the origins of 50 Blessings, the group from the first game.

My knowledge of the story so far(most of this being theories): It's been said that the story will take place before, during, and after the events of Hotline Miami. I'll split this up into possible categories:
Before:
One of the leaks showed a group of four soldiers in the jungle. It's unclear if they'll work similar to The Fans, i.e. all will be playable characters with different abilities, or like the Swans, controlling all of them at once. My theory is that this will be the group that will form 50 Blessings, the group behind the events of Hotline Miami. This part of Wrong Number would most likely show why they decide to do this, by their experiences in the, I'd assume, Vietnam War.
Another leaked character was the Mobster. Considering the Mob Boss bears a great similarity to the Mob Boss from HM1, it's likely it's the same guy. Not much was shown, but I'd assume this is simply to give us an inside view on the organization we took down as Jacket in the first game.
Richter's storyline obviously takes place before or during HM1. I'd bet on it being before the first game, as his role during the game was more or less explored completely in the first game. I don' have any idea why they'd include him as a character, though.
During:
It seems likely the only POV taking place during the game would be Jake's. Considering that it couldn't be after it ends, since you can find his dead body(and the Snake Mask) in the first game. Another member of 50 Blessings, his leak would suggest that like Jacket and Biker, he was more or less being manipulated. In fact, it seems likely that the only ones not being manipulated would be The Clerk, The Janitors, The Soldiers(some of whom could be the janitors, or the clerk), and possibly Richter, as he seems to have some greater knowledge of what is going on.
After:
Obviously, the two storylines that have been officially shown, that of The Pig Butcher's and the Fan's take place after HM1. Mostly because the creators directly said that they did.
The Pig Butcher's/Martin Brown's is about a movie(Midnight Marauder) being made based on the events of HM1. However, it's clear from the leak that Martin Brown, in the course of filming this movie, slowly goes insane. I'm not sure how this could fit into everything else, but it's interesting.
The Fan's storyline hasn't been expanded on by the leak, and I can't even begin to make many speculations as to what role they'd have in the story. But for those who don't know, The Fans are vigilantes who kind of missed out. Since Jacket did what they needed in HM1, 50 Blessings has left Miami. In an attempt to gain their attention, the Fans go and deal with crime in a brutal fashion, not knowing of 50 Blessings true motive(that of sparking a war between America and Russia).
Two other leaked characters were Evan and Detective Manny Pardo. I have no clue about Manny's storyline, but the leak made Evan's pretty clear; he wants to gather information on Jacket and 50 Blessings to try and write a novel about the killings. Again, not sure of their role in the whole thing.
Obviously, shown by the leaks of the trial, Jacket will be in the game, but maybe not as a playable character. Another leaked character is "The Son". Not sure where his story fits into everything, but he appears to be connected to the mob, so... maybe during or before HM1? Or perhaps he's trying to rebuild the Mafia's power?

The Story of Hotline Miami(to my understanding. Major spoilers ahead): Alright, so, at the center of everything is an organization known as "50 Blessings". You find pamphlets throughout the game, including one in Jacket's(the main character's) apartment before the first level. 50 Blessings is an ultra nationalistic organization. They find people to further their goals by spying on their members, finding the most unstable, and easily manipulated people.
Jacket is one such person that they've contacted. This is never fully explained to him, and they send him the locations of Russian Mobsters to slaughter via "Hotline Miami", using a system so that these phone calls cannot possibly be traced back to them.
Jacket is more than happy to kill the mobsters. It's suggested that "Beard", the guy who Jacket meets at the end of every level, is also working for 50 Blessings, hence his strange, indirect praise after each level, and giving Jacket free stuff.
Eventually, after all the bloodshed, Jacket begins to slip into madness, reality becomes blurred, and he's becoming increasingly unstable. To remedy this problem, 50 Blessings replaces Beard with a man named Richter, who spies on Jacket, until breaking into his apartment, killing his girlfriend, and shooting him in the head, sending him into a coma.
Jacket then loses his memory, and is confronted by three masked figures. Richard, a representation of himself, Don Juan, his girlfriend, and Rasmus, a mobster. Jacket then starts to remember the events that led him there, but in a surreal, blurred way(hence the presentation of the game), starting from his first job on April 8th, 1989.
As he remembers all that he's done, he is periodically confronted by the masked figures. Jacket's character is brought across in a clever way. all three masked figures are part of his mind, so they all represent aspects of him, and parts of the story are told in how the environment changes from level to level. I have to respect how well done all this was.
Eventually, Jacket wakes up form his coma, and escapes the hospital. He goes on a rampage, attacked the police station, and killing Richter, as well as stealing case files so that he can find whoever is behind everything. At this point, Jacket doesn't care what he has to do, but he wants to bring an end to everything. He goes deeper and deeper without understanding what is going on. 50 Blessings uses this to their advantage, and directs him toward the Mob Boss of the Russian Mafia in Miami. Jacket, not caring about having been manipulated, and only wanting everything to end, kills the mob boss, and the game ends.
To give a clearer understanding of 50 Blessings, the game then shows an alternate, non-canon timeline, putting the player in the shoes of The Biker, a far more stable vigilante. The Biker wants out, but to do this, knows he must go after 50 Blessings. Being nothing more than a hired killer, he tracks down 50 Blessings, and tries to take them out. He finds out how they created to Hotline so as not to be tracked, and whereas in the main game Jacket is sent to stop him and kills him, in the alternate time line, it's The Biker who kills Jacket.
From this point, The Biker goes to confront 50 Blessings, and talks to the two janitors at Jacket's apartment building, who are only two members of the large organization. The "normal" ending has the two janitors say that it was all just a game to them, and they were just having some fun. Going back and collecting all the little shiny squares gives you the "secret" ending, in which Biker hacks into the computer first, and finds out enough information about the organization to properly confront them. They admit that they are a very large organization, attacking various different political groups from Russia to destroy the American-Russo Coalition, forcing the two countries into a war, hoping for America to crush Russia and display their superiority to the world.

Just dug up the pricing info on Wrong Number, and it's gonna be $15 just like the original. That means I have enough scratch to get BL2 this weekend.

The one thing that still bothers me about the plot of Hotline Miami is what role Beard a.k.a The Clerk plays in the whole thing. I've never really accepted the theory that he's Richter, but seeing that Richter is a playable character in HM2, I guess we'll see for sure.
However, I have always thought that in some way, he might work for 50 Blessings... but I'm not sure if Jacket knew that, or if Beard had been pretending to be his friend. I'm inclined to think that Jacket didn't know that Beard had any involvement in the whole thing, but that was in fact involved with 50 Blessings and was keeping an eye on Jacket.
Also worth noting that of the Soldier protagonists, one is seen to have long hair, a beard, and glasses, so Beard is potentially one of the founders of 50 Blessings?
I guess I'll just wait for HM2.
In other news, yay, beating more of my own high scores. Still cannot get anything higher than a B+ on Hot & Heavy though. I fucking hate that level.

I just realized that the first chapter is called "No Talk" because the call on your phone that starts the chapter says to have a "long talk" with the "kids" that need to be "disciplined".

I really need to finish the first one. It's not very long. Yeah, but Steam cloud saving doesn't work for it, so I've had to replay it a few times for various reasons, but I'll do it this time. Hopefully.
