Well I like the historical setting, but I HIGHLY doubt it will be as good as AC4, now that was a game in a half, but I have been legitimately surprised before, AC4 included, so maybe I am wrong.

Well, you know, this one has actual stealth so........... Also, the "Black Box" Missions seem really cool. To my understanding, there are no longer specific pickpocket or locate or tail missions. So for example, if you need to steal info from someone(also, for the record, you don't, but it can be greatly helpful in assassinating people), but they notice you when you try to pickpocket them, instead of the mission being a failure and restarting, they'll run to get help, or maybe fight you. If they run and you lose track of them, it becomes a locate mission. Essentially, the mission continues to adapt, and will never be an outright failure unless you die. Though, you probably won't get the best result if it keeps getting drawn out and adapting, meaning you'll accomplish your goal in a less ideal way. And the mobs! I really like the idea of that. They showed some gameplay of one of the Solo missions. There was a mob of peasants gathering outside the palace you're supposed to infiltrate, with some guards holding them back. You COULD find some way to sneak in, or attack the guard to rally the mob and storm the palace, busting in and slaughtering everyone with your army of peasants. And Co-op, of course.

I do admit it looks good, better then AC3, but it's hard to top AC4 in my opinion, though the gameplay ideas you mentioned are interesting, I could care less about co op but that's something else entirely.

Well, AC IV didn't necessarily fix any problems of the series, it just added something new, that being, the Sea, as well as more enjoyable side quests. While the Sea stuff ended up being really good, when you're in cities, it hasn't changed much from any of the previous ones since AC II really, and when in the wild, its the same as AC III. Each game since AC II(aside from Revelations) has added something, without significantly improving on the core of the series. Assassin's Creed Unity, basically rebuilt....... Everything. Parkour is different, you can see that just from the videos they've shown. Controlled Descent(so no ridiculous jumping into hay bales to get down from high places), smoother movement, generally improvements, being blended with stealth, etc. Combat is no longer a case of "sit here and either counter or dodge until you win!" There's actual skill involved, beyond timing. Combat also adapts to situation and environment. For example, rather than combat becoming all glitchy and weird when near a wall, Arno will use the environment to his advantage. Also, it's a lot harder, which is good, considering most people thought combat in AC IV was ridiculously easy. And, as previously mentioned. Stealth. As in, it exists. The missions, see above. NPCs, see above. On top of this, like with IV and III, the historical period adds something unique. As opposed to it just being you can the city guards, avoiding them and killing your targets, you've got many, many different factions of people fighting a war in the streets. Random battles burst out that can plunge an entire district of Paris into total chaos. The Peasants, Revolutionaries, Guards, the city is alive beyond what you do, and beyond the same things happening over and over again. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this well, it was shown in one of the videos, where the guy was going to complete a mission, and then all of a sudden, some Peasants who had previously just been hanging out ambushed a group of guards and started a huge battle. Arno did nothing to start it, him being there didn't activate a scripted event or anything, it just happened. Since even AC IV focused on cities, these improvements to how a city works, making it seem alive, are huge.

I probably won't get the game, but I am curious to see how they portray the French Revolution.

On a side note, finished AC II just a few minutes ago. Really great game, I'm way more into the story than I thought I'd be.
Not sure yet why so many people don't like Desmond. Also, moderately confused about all the First Civilization stuff..... But I think I understand the majority of it.

I mixed up Black Box with the other Mission type. AMA or something, basically, the Adaptive Missions I described earlier.
Black Box are the assassination missions. Basically, it opens up an area, you you can do whatever you need to to kill the target. Eavesdrop to find opportunities, use stealth, attack after rallying an army, whatever.
Then Co-op has heists(steal shit) and Brotherhood Missions(kill people). They're both similar to Black Box Assassination Mission.

Yeah I do find that really strange, and as everyone knows by now, there excuse as to why one of the co op characters couldn't be female is beyond stupid.

Why is it a big deal that you always see yourself as Arno? Doesn't seem to be that important, does it affect anything?
Aside from being the reason why they can't have a female co-op character. Which, I also don't think is too big of a deal.

The Medieval style of AC2 to ACR always felt better to me than the open world of AC3 and 4. So Unity seems like it's gonna be a good return to that good old rooftop running.
