Let's look at all the good deaths in S1 E1-4 vs S2 E1-4: E1: Irene, Carley/Doug, Police officer, Sandra E2: David, Travis, Andy St. John, Danny St. John, Brenda St. John, Jolene, Larry E3: Carley/Doug, Duck, Katjaa E4: Brie, Chuck, Fivel, Dr. Logan, Ben E1:E2: Nick, Pete E3: Reggie, Alvin E4:
... Can't say it was a surprise that someone got a shit death. Gonna have to disagree with you there a bit: If you say that episode one Carley/ Doug deaths are good, then Pete's death in episode one is good as well. It's exactly the same thing. Walter's death was alright in my opinion. Don't know why they cut the "go to hell you fuck" line that they had him say in the episode two recap. Episode three, you aren't counting Carver's death? Really? That was the highpoint of a lackluster episode. At the time, I thought they killed him off too early, but what a way to go. Episode four: Nick's second death was shit. Sarah's second death was shit. Sarita's arm chop scene was alright (by the time the episode came out, none of us thought she would live) Can't really say the same about the non cut. Rebecca's death was great in my opinion. It generated one of the hardest choices I've had in both seasons. It was a shame nobody on our side died in the shootout. Episode five: - Luke's death sucked. You all know my take on this.

I didn't count episode 5 because I was comparing the deaths of the episodes 1-4, because going off of that alone, I knew everyone was getting shit deaths in the finale.

I thought that the death itself was actually pretty great. He went out saving Clem one last time. But I do feel that he should have lived, no matter how heroic his death was. Yeah I have to agree, it was a great death, but I would have liked him to live.

And yes, I hated Luke's death. For a character of his magnitude, it was a bullshit death inserted purely for shock value.

I thought it was funny mostly because of the ad-libbed "YOU SHOT MY DICK OFF". Don't think it was supposed to have much more impact beyond that besides planting seeds of doubt in your mind about Jane.

I think that that was supposed to be some sort of twisted ha-ha moment. Troy acts like a dick all episode by pushing kids around and being creepy and gets his dick literally shot off.
Didn't really work out that way... still kinda felt bad for the guy. I could live with being devoured by walkers. Couldn't live with getting my dick shot off.

A theoretical live. I could live with myself in death knowing that I went out the way millions of the others went. I couldn't live with myself in life knowing I'm dickless.

Troy's death was funny, but it wasn't particularly good. How do you think his death should have been handled?

Troy's death was funny, but it wasn't particularly good. How do you think his death should have been handled? I mean, not every character needs to have a good death. For instance, on my previous list, you'll notice Brie wasn't on there. Brie, however, didn't really deserve a good death. Same thing with Troy. He was so minor that he only deserved an appropriate death... Though it could have made more sense, like having more than one fucking guard respond to Carver dying.
