I look at videos like this one, and I can't explain how much I'm glad Kenny can die in No going back. I honestly wouldn't be able to stand another season of him being major character and Telltale forcing the players to like him or at least feel sorry for him.

Dude... It's supposed to be a joke.
Nothin' to complain about.

I know it's a joke. But those Kenny is god jokes are getting old and annoying.
Back on topic, new protagonist and cast still seems like a best option to me.

I just skimmed through the thread, so I don't know if anybody's suggested this, but here's what I think would be the best idea: Make 3-5 separate storylines that do not converge, but instead of using save files from season 1 and 2, just have a choice just before starting episode 1, something like "Who are you with?" (Option 1: At Wellington with AJ, Option 2: Near Wellington with AJ and Kenny, Option 3: Alone with AJ, Option 4: God Kenny who summons boats and Ghost LeeThis seems unlikely, though. I suppose I have no choice but to stream it now. What's a good time?

Let's just say that somehow, Telltale manages to make it so Season 3 will continue with the three sets of endings, not really having any of them re-converge, expect for the last two sets of choices, which would re-converge near the beginning of those paths. Just as a hypothetical, if they decided to throw everything they had at Season 3 to make it work like that.
I think the way for it to continue each storyline would be fairly simple.
The Alone ending would be easiest. Really the only thing I could see making an impact would be whenever we find someone new, depending on how we got to the Alone ending, there's different dialogue options. i.e, "I was with a man, but he lost it, he killed a woman, and I left him behind." Something different with Jane, and something different again if you killed both of them.
The Kenny endings maybe take place a few months after S2 ended. By this time, the people in Wellington trust Clem more, she's made friends, or she's still with Kenny, perhaps they have someone else travelling with them now.
Wellington:
The first few minutes of the episode just left us get used to Wellington, interact with a few of the new characters, etc. Maybe some mention of a herd that's been moving in. The Herd gets to their gates, but there are survivors there as well, they beg to be let in. Clem winds up at the gate and sees that it's Kenny(perhaps with someone new, too). Edith(or someone else) tells them to wait, they can take care of the walkers, and then they'll help them. We get a choice to either convince Edith to open the gate, or just open it ourselves. If we do nothing, Kenny either convinces Edith to open the gate, or threatens her. Either way, Kenny and other survivors are let in, and other guards deal with the walkers. If Clem/Kenny convinced Edith to let them in, someone(the leader?) is mad at Edith, if Clem let them in, then Clem gets yelled at. If Kenny threatens her, people won't trust Kenny. We may get a minor choice to defend Kenny's actions, or not. Either way, they don't turn the survivors away.
With Kenny:
Beginning of the episode sort of fills us in on what's happened, lets us interact with any new people in the group. Maybe after several months, they're on their way to Wellington, to see if they can be let in. They get boxed in by the Herd, and it's basically the same scenario, but with Clem outside the gates. We get a choice to convince Edith to open the gate, or maybe to threaten her. Or if we do nothing, then Kenny will either try to convince her or threaten her. If either Clem/Kenny convinces Edith to open the gate, again, the leader is mad at Edith, the survivors are not turned away. If Clem/Kenny threatens Edith, then the people in Wellington are distrustful of them, but they are still not turned away.
The Jane endings would also be fairly simple to re-converge. If they turned the family away, a similar situation with what happens with Kenny and whoever else may be at the gates to Wellington. The family comes back with walkers behind them. Clem has a choice to open the gate, or just shoot at the walkers, but not let them in. If Clem doesn't let them in, Jane will. They'd already not really like Clem or Jane as much because of turning them away the first time, if Clem doesn't let them in the second time, then Randy will REALLY not like Clem. At this point, they'd have re-converged.

Now the (slight) majority is in favor of following three paths rather than a new start. Huh. Another option would be that Season 3 does follow a new set of characters. Then, by Season 4, Telltale will obviously be a much bigger company(if GoT, TFTB, and TWD S3 all succeed), with a lot more resources at their disposal. Season 4 could continue the story of Clem, with 3 different paths, and eventually have it meet with where ever Season 3 would leave off with the new characters.

I really don't want to continue Clem's story and have 3 different storylines. First off, we'd have to play as Clem again, which I'd hate to happen. And I'm not a fan of any of the possible storylines. Clem being alone would just be season 2 all over again. Clem's alone, she has trouble surviving, meets new people, becomes member of their group. Yeah, we had that already. That's why I was stronly against the cast being wiped again.
I'd hate Clem being with Jane, because well... Jane. She's as bad as Kenny, almost everything about her is bad. Clem is just becoming evil, if she turns the family away. But if she doesn't, that family probably isn't legit and we'll get lessons from Jane about pragmatism being better again.
The same problem as with Jane, only bigger, I have with Clem being with Kenny. Kenny's ran his course 4 episodes ago. He can't be a major character again, he became boring quickly in season 2. And I just hate this guy, especially after No going back. What else is there to tell about him anyway? Nothing, if you ask me.
Now, the Wellington is the only storyline with potential. But knowing Telltale, it wouldn't last long and we'd just see another community fall apart. After that, we'd somehow meet Kenny again, because Telltale would want to make a smaller amount of storylines.
I think I've just convinced myself not to buy season 3, if it will continue Clem's story. Season 3 is not even needed, when I think about it.

Or Season 3 picks up with Lily on the road/escaping in RV and she is the playable protagonist.
Imagine the hate.

But yeah, Telltale would never do this, because the hate would be huge. Christa being pc is in my opinion the best thing Telltale can do. Mike would also be cool in that role, but same as with Lilly, there would be too much hate.

I do not want Christa as the PC.... And I do not want Clem as the PC. No matter what Telltale will do, there will be people disliking it. Lucky for you, Christa being the protagonist is very unlikely.
