Yeah, I must admit, that was a very good call back.

Alvin's actually a pretty alright guy despite being whipped like crazy. I didn't know it before because I decided against knocking on his window the first time but when I did it during my second play through, he did help me out despite it going against the group and his wife's wishes. So far, my list of people I trust goes:
Luke Pete Alvin Nick Sarah Carlos Rebecca

Yeah, I like Alvin after that one scene, its a shame you can miss it, because outside of that scene, he is barely in the episode.

So he helps you? I decided not to knock on the window, because I figured he would be too scared of hos wife to help me. Good to know that.

When I replay the episode, I'm gonna give Alvin's window a knock next time. But, if it ends up screwing me over in the future, I'll redo it again and leave the window alone.

Fair warning, I believe his wife finds out. She does. In my "Side with Luke" save file (I'm all but certain he's the main companion character for this season, like Kenny in season 1), I went to the window and made Alvin feel guilty. Then I said I would go. I'm going out of my way in that save to make sure I don't owe anyone anything, with the exception of Luke. Maybe if you make Alvin feel a bit guilty, but then leave, he will feel like he has to help you in the future.

Interesting note: psychologists have found that people tend to like you more after they do you a favor. So if the game wants to stay true to that then getting Alvin to help you will make him like you more in the future.
