Finished the game. Motherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
fuckerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I killed Mike. So close to the end. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
Only way this is tolerable is that it was Sam escaping. Any other of the females, Emily, Jessica, Ashley... I'd never forgive myself.
OK, for me:
Alive - Emily, Matt, Sam, Josh? (just saw the cutscene after the credits, technically calling Josh alive!) Dead - Mike, Chris, Ashley, Jessica
Mike and Jessica were my two real kills. With Mike, I simply made the wrong decision and ran for the switch. With Jessica, I didn't reach her in time.
I got all the way back to the cabin with Chris... then missed an easy shot at the Wendigo diving for me and he ripped Chris head off. Ashley saw the whole thing and didn't really give a shit SOOOOOOOO I split off from the group in the sewers to investigate the noise and opened the clattering trapdoor with Ashley, pretty much knowing she would be killed. lol.
Favorite characters:
1. Mike. Second place isn't close to Mike. I was getting a MAJOR Nathan Drake vibe every time he was going through the Sanatorium. Great smartass character.
2. Josh. To keep up appearances. Was he crazy or something? Was the doctor in his mind? Very confused.
3. Sam. The clear cut best female character. Maybe I'm just saying that because it's Hayden Panettiere, whatever. She was capable, didn't bitch and moan and was friendly with pretty much everyone.
4. Matt. Gotta be honest, I thought he was wallpaper. Boring as shit. Then he did something AMAZING. He pulled a Nick in In Harm's Way. He slept through the entire story. Seriously, all he needs to do to survive is get to the radio tower and not be a dipshit in the mines. How can't you respect him keeping his head down, mailing it in and surviving?
5. Chris. Started out great, then he became annoying.
6. Emily. Bitch.
7. Ashley. By all means, I should have at least liked her. I didn't. She irked me. I don't have to tell you guys that, I already admitted that I willingly walked her into her own death.
8. Jessica. Worthless. Mike became an AWESOME character once he was rid of her baggage.

"How's that feel, you fuck?"
Quotes like that are why Mike is the best, hand's down. It isn't enough to win (even when you lose, speaking in generalities), you've gotta rub your opponent's face in the dirt. Belittle them. Make sure they know they're a pathetic loser and that you're king of the mother fucking castle.

Triple post, going back to what I said a page back. Vest is Must have item. I'll pay anything. Anyone that doesn't think that vest is fall showstopper is a dunderhead that doesn't know fashion. AND THE FLANNEL UNDERNEATH. OH! Time to search all over the Internet and fast forward to chilly weather. Say what you want about Josh, sure he may have lost his marbles but his ability to construct an outfit was on point. So endeth my gayest post ever.

Fun Fact: Both Sam and Jess' actors played characters in Kingdom Hearts. Sam played Kairi and Xion, while Jess played Namine.

Couple of butterfly effect questions I have since my playthrough didn't cover either:
- What's the significance of Sam leaving the baseball bat in the basement? Can she leave the bat anywhere else? Aside from me questioning Josh if he used to play or not, the bat never played a factor.
- What's the left behind one? Again, didn't see any of that in mine. Guessing it's because I got Chris killed before he got back inside the cabin and letting Ashley die.
More curious on the first one.

More curious on the first one. You can not take it out of the closet. It plays a factor in the chase with the Psycho/Josh. If you hide there and had the baseball bat, then you could fight him off and wouldn't be caught, but if you hid there and didn't have it, then you'd be caught right then and there. There's a lot of minor things that affect that part. Choosing to shoot the squirrel or not right in the beginning can also determine if Sam is caught of not. Not even sure what happens if she isn't caught, I was an idiot and ran at the last part and got caught. :/
And yes, the Left Behind choice doesn't show up because Chris died. If Chris lives, then he starts limping when they go down into the sewers, and as Ashley, you can say he should stay behind in the safe room and wait for them, or insist that he stay with them. I insisted he stay with and later got the message "Chris was safe". I assume if he stayed behind, then maybe choosing to close the grate or not also has an affect, like, maybe Chris only gets hurt/dies if Ashley says he should stay behind and closes the grate.

Ah, okay. finding Josh's psychiatric file would be interesting... Hill was actually his therapist. these (at least the ones in the beginning) therapist segments might've been thinks he did.

If you leave Chris behind, he's the one that can investigate Jessica's voice instead of Ashley, and could potentially get killed.

Can someone explain how in the fuq do they hear jessica's voice? It's a Wendigo imitating Jessica's voice.

So how good is the game and how long is it? Might loan it or shit (I'm surprised these kind of stores still exist) I'd say the game is pretty great, choices actually matter, the characters are decent and it's pretty tense, And it's about 7 hours long or so.

So how good is the game and how long is it? Might loan it or shit (I'm surprised these kind of stores still exist) It's pretty fantastic. I've played it twice already, and depending on how much you spend searching for clues and such, it can be around 6-8 hours. The story is interesting, very tense in parts, and it has some very likeable characters, and some very hateable characters.

So how good is the game and how long is it? Might loan it or shit (I'm surprised these kind of stores still exist) It's about 10 hours long, and for an obvious homage to the 80s horror slasher genre, it does it REALLY well. Plus Telltale could learn a thing or two from it on how to handle determinant characters.
