I can't believe the number of people who saved everyone on their first run.
Like, you've got to have the quickest reflexes and a bit of luck to make everybody live during your first playthrough. I only managed to save Chris, Mike and Sam in the end.

I only managed to save Chris, Mike and Sam in the end. I guess that's true. There were some moments during the QTEs where I almost pressed the wrong button, but I pressed the right one instead, and even at the last second, too. And I was also lucky enough to make the right decisions, but I feel like the most I've been lucky in this game was during the final "don't move" prompts. When I do play it again, I'm gonna try and find the two totems and other clues that I missed in my first run.

Probably just to make sure they filled the "black guy dies first" trope.

I am pretty damn sure that is the reasoning, and frankly I do like that reasoning. On most people's playthrough's, he is the first to die. Its a interesting way to incorporatethat time honored horror cliche.

I saved Matt first try too, though I only saved him and Sam (almost Mike, but I fucked up), so I don't think I can talk.

What's so hard about saving Matt? I saved dat du' first try. Probably because most people were nice enough to try and save the queen bitch, and either didn't see the flare gun, gave it to Emily, or even more likely, failed to give it to him correctly. You need to say no to his plan to keep the flare gun, and nobody ever picks that as a choice.

My brother and I each agreed to play as half of the characters. I got Mike, Jess, Sam, and Chris and he got Matt, Em, Ashley, and Josh. HE was too nice to her and agreed to her plan then tried to save her, so he ended up getting him killed. The only person I got killed was Sam because I fucked up the last QTE. I don't know how you're supposed to keep that controller still for like 20 seconds, you've gotta have like fucking nerves of steel to do that.

And yeah, if you can't just cheat and put it on the ground, it will quickly vibrate and move. So its entirely possible for you to sweat, and as a result lost your grip, drop the controller, and be spotted. That can actually realistically happen. I fucking love this game.

That's right, I just remembered I knew how to save Matt because my friend spoiled that part while he was bitching about how it wasn't fair or some shit (he tried to keep it vague, but it was so obvious when I got to that point), otherwise I would only have had 1 survivor.

That's my problem; I have like the sweatiest hands in the world. For some reason whenever I play games NO MATTER WHAT my controller always gets sweaty, even if I'm playing like XCOM or something that requires little controller interaction.

He's not talking bout that but rather that he doesn't have to smash this and that and triangle or letter or whatever you fucking console bois have nowadays Exactly. I could be watching like a 10 minute cutscene from Metal Gear Solid 4 and my controller would still somehow end up covered in sweat.

I saved Matt my first time. Didn't even try to save Emily.
