I gotta say, this is a really good show. No show has gotten me so attached to characters. If you've never heard of it, here's the premise in a nutshell:
Space cowboys set to soothing smooth jazz.
It follows an episodic formula, where each episode is independent of the others. While it is helpful, and you get the best experience from watching it in order, it doesn't seem to be mandatory, at least up until episode 12 (the point I'm at) to watch it in a particular order.
The major characters are all well developed (including all of the one off characters, who appear, and then disappear), except for one, who is a small child, ergo there isn't really much to develop. Then again, the child may develop later, as I'm only halfway through the show. For once, this show has made me like the protagonist, Spike, more than any other character. This is not due to the protagonist being particularly better in any way than the other main characters, in fact, he's probably worse in certain ways, but he's just so badass, and so well developed. It's hard not to like him. The other main characters, Jet in particular, are all really likable as well. Have you guys ever watched this show?
EDIT: Oh, and it's the only anime that I've ever watched where I can unironically sit through the intro sequence unembarrassed.

I need to find a way to watch the last few episodes. I stopped at 22 I think.

There's also a movie, and they recently gave universal the rights to make a live-actions movie that is now in the works.
As for my opinion on the 22 episodes I've seen, this is one of my favorite TV Shows ever, and definetly my favorite anime. Then again, this is known for being the least "Anime-like" anime ever.

I've seen 20 episodes. Fucking hell, this is beautiful. As for this being the most anime-like anime, I'd have to disagree. At least from where I'm sitting, the general anime trend is about putting unlikely heroes, and antisocial people in epic, over the top situations. Cowboy Bebop does none of this. The protagonists of Cowboy Bebop (aside from Ed, who is not really that major of a character) are not any of these things.
Spike is a former criminal who ran away from his life for a reason that has yet to be explained.
Jet is a former police officer who made a new life for himself after his girlfriend left him, and after he lost his arm.
Fae is a woman who spent fifty years in cryosleep, and became very jaded soon after awakening in what would be Oscar-bait if her backstory was a movie of it's own.
Hell, even Ein is a dog worth millions of dollars for some inadequately explained reason (data dog? What the fuck does that even mean?).
As for the live action movie, that sounds pretty good. Cowboy Bebop is an anime that would totally work in a normal movie setting, unlike literally every other anime I've seen.

I said least anime-like anime. Cowboy Bebop is generally seen as one of the most western anime ever. Also, Ein is a genius. Ein is short for Einstein. That's why he's worth so much money.

More news on the movie, Sundance, the studio that made the original series is actually working very closely with Universal on the new movie, and Keanu Reeves was original going to play the role of Spike, but they dropped him for whatever reason. He said that he really wants to be in the movie, but it wasn't likely to happen.
So, I have no doubts that it's going to be fantastic, especially considering that the original director, Shinichiro Watanabe and the original script supervisor, Keiko Nobumoto are on board as producers for the movie.
Peter Craig is writing the script, and it's said that it will be an "origins story" of sorts.

I'd like Jack Nicholson as Jet, though, if Nicholson could get a little beefed up.

I wrote that at like 1 in the morning. Ein never shows signs of being a genius. He just seems like a dog.

No, he doesn't really do "genius" things, but he's still a pretty smart dog.

He doesn't seem to do anything that indicates intelligence, aside from answering the phone that one time.

I just finished it, and I gotta say, that was pretty awesome. I'm glad they ended it when you only wanted more, rather than drawing it out. While I didn't buy Faye's sudden intense care for Spike, I kinda understand where she was coming from. Other than that, Spike's death was fucking cool.
