I imagine, it's more like $10(the usual price for a TPB) for most people.

Also, in re-reading From the Darkness it Watches, I got the answer to the question I had posed last time. It seems as if the more powerful demons can possess just about anyone. This is made pretty clear when Sidney is talking to Sarah and talks about how full of life she was, how much she tried to fight the demon inside her. It occurs to me that when people have hit rock bottom, or are in a bad situation(like Anderson, Joshua, Blake, etc.) it's simply easier for a weaker demon to take over. It probably takes a pretty strong demon to possess someone completely against their will, as opposed to people like Anderson, who had almost welcomed the demon that tried to possess him.

Issue 10: A Weakness Exposed The demons(And Sidney) are trying to attack... That could either be Amber or... maybe Holly? I just wanted to say, I like how they placed Amber over Kyle's heart. That's pretty cool. And the hands reaching for her... Yeah, definitely guessing that a demon possesses Amber like the one that had possessed Joshua, and the issue after this one, A Line is Crossed, will be Anderson and Kyle trying to exorcise her.
Which probably means some sort of confrontation between Allison and Kyle in the next few issues.
Also, I didn't make the connection until re-reading them all today that Allison lives in Charleston, and Kyle and Anderson are going to Charleston to find Sherry.

Wow, some dude gave Outcast a shitty review.... I guess because he's an atheist? Like, he pretty much gave it a bad review because it has too much to do with God and religion, and then just proceeded to talk about how God doesn't exist and blah, blah, blah. I mean, even if you don't believe in God, you can still enjoy the book, right? And even if, for whatever reason you can't enjoy it(I mean, Kirkman has said that he doesn't believe in God and he's the one writing the damn thing), why give it a bad review because of that.
Other things they said didn't even make much sense. How it's basically the demonic version of The Walking Dead. Uh... last time I checked, it wasn't the apocalypse, and demons don't equal zombies. The Demons in Outcast are clever, they're natural liars, and they stay hidden in plain sight... so... not zombies, no.
They also complained how each issue is just yet another exorcism, and it's the same thing over and over again.... There's been two total. And one failed. Like, really. About half of A Darkness Surrounds Him was about the exorcism. Then there was the failed one with Blake in A Wrath Unseen.... and that's been in. I mean, if anything, I'd suspect that people would complain about the very deliberate pacing, but no.... they say it's too action-packed.... Uh... yeah, right. Sure, whatever you say.
And then he complains about how there's only possessed people. No coal monsters or giant spiders.... like... fucking what... I don't even.... what?

Well, this doesn't bode well. I spoiler tagged this one because it gives away a little more than the others. Second spoiler tag is my predictions/thoughts. I actually had a sneaking suspicion that Megan would be possessed because of the scene at the beginning of Issue #8. I guess Kirkman tried to throw us off with Donnie. He must not really feel that bad after confronting Kyle and Megan, and it's actually Megan who's in a bad place right now because of being reminded of what Donnie did to her.

I finished reading Paperback 1 now. It actually is quite a good read once the story picks up the pace a bit.

Personally, I can't stand the horribly slow pace of The Walking Dead right now, and I hate the super fast pace of Y: The Last Man. I appreciate both the slow paced issues and fast paced issues of Outcast, and I like the very deliberate pace it has overall. Seems like Vol. 2 will have things pick up a little more even, if the covers are anything to do by, anyway.

I'll check out the second paperback as soon as it's out, which should be by the end of the year.

Which means that the Outcast TV Series should be premiering on CineMax sometime around November or December, or maybe January(I'm hoping for November), since Kirkman has said that it will premiere when the comics are well into its third arc. By the way, any thoughts on the story so far? I haven't talked to anyone else who's read beyond Issue 1, and I'm curious to know if your thoughts on the story(Sidney and what's going on with him in particular) are any different from mine.

Well I'd have to re-read it to remember all the details, but I'm quite fond of the story. I just hope it doesn't drag out too long and that he wraps it up in less than 10-20 paperbacks.

I don't think there's much of a chance of that. Kirkman has been talking about Outcast as his next big series. His other two(Invincible and TWD) are both past 20 Trade-Paperbacks and have shown no signs of slowing down. I'll just say that I hope he ends it when it needs to end. Whether that's around 10, or 30 volumes, just whenever it needs to end is when it should end, he shouldn't drag it past when it should have ended. For example, I still think that The Walking Dead could have ended at All Out War. Right now, I've got no clue what Kirkman is up to, but I'm not a big fan of it. Though, from what I've heard, most people are okay with Invincible still going strong, so that might go on for quite a bit longer before it's ready to end. It depends on the story. I think Outcast will be one that probably should end before 20. So... yeah, 10-20, I agree.

And I think that the beginning of the Post-War Arc of Walking Dead was great, but at some point the comic kinda lost focus.

And I agree, Outcast should stay pretty grounded in reality. It's part of what makes it so fucking creepy. Right now though, there's so many questions that need answering... It'll probably run for a good while before there's any chance of it losing its focus.
