In which the Great Escape doesn't actually happen. This one is plotting and build-up.

I read all the latest chapters. Good job, Jake. Next Chapter's a good one. Shit hits the fan, there's yet more references to In Harm's Way, and a little bit of character development for Wyatt, Becca and Miles. I like Miles. I might keep him for a long time, he isn't gonna end up being a red shirt.

Oh, I forgot something. You made me like Becca when it was her POV... Something I didn't expect. Good job! *pat pat*

The Becca chapter actually made me think about what goes into one's first walker kill. Like Clementine's first walker kill was in Crawford, shooting the walker attacking Molly if Lee misses. (Determinant.) Or in the jewelry store with the baseball bat. Both instances where she was thrown into a situation where she had to act, but was ready for it because Lee always prepared her for the possibility that she'd have to.
It's very interesting thinking about sheltered kids like Becca or Sarah. If they're not thrust into a position where they HAVE to act, how do they learn? It's funny to think of Shel or Carlos capturing a single walker and being like "OK, honey, go kill it" as training or something.
So, yeah. Nice work. Makes ya think.

I sort of wrote it so that Becca thinks that as soon as she kills a walker, everyone will trust her with more dangerous jobs. It works with her wanting to check the guns in 400 days, as it's a responsible task, as well as her referring to Sarah as a 'baby', because Sarah clearly isn't very responsible. So pretty much, Becca just wants to be trusted with responsibility rather than being treated like a kid, and somehow she's convinced herself killing a walker is the way to do it.

That kid looks like clementine with different hair. Congratulations, you win a bonus point; I used Clementine's younger model, plus there's some Becca thrown in too.
