Oh, I like it better than Turn. Much more likeable main character.

Well, no one else has given their opinions of the show since Season One ended, so I will.
This show it's bad. It's not terrible, and it barely qualifies as bad, more like... below-average. No way in hell is this the next Breaking Bad as some people seemed to think. It's... Well, it's just boring. It doesn't draw you in at ALL. It's got shitty pacing, and frankly, you can't have a show about the civil war and not have any major characters die, or even minor characters! In all the battles that happened, not that many people died outside of the first episode.
They built up the finale so much for this huge fucking battle, and like... 3 people died, or even got injured, that I see. I don't remember a whole lot of it, and I watched it pretty recently. It wasn't exciting...
Halt and Catch Fire is way more exciting than this show, and that's about computers. COMPUTERS. A show about computers is more exciting than one about the REVOLUTIONARY WAR.
The acting is.... Okay. Just... Eh.
As for what they did concerning the time period... I think there was some wasted potential there.
Biggest disappointment was the whole spying thing. Not explored much at all, instead focusing on the relationships between the no very likeable, and sometimes boring characters.
I'd give this show, the first Season any way, a 4.5/10.

Now that the first season is finished, I'm starting to wonder what @harpstempaccount thinks about it, seeing as he was the one who said it could be the next Breaking Bad.

Unfortunately, I fell behind. I stopped at episode 4, so I still don't know. Where I am, it still seems really fucking good.

Oh, well, I thought it was really boring and way too slow, along with some pretty bad acting(aside form Roberts and the guy who reminds me of The Swede from Hell on Wheels, they were pretty awesome), and boring characters... But, that's just my own opinion. Halt and Catch Fire on the other hand... That may end up being AMC's best show(not rating wise probably, Walking Dead will most likely continue to reign supreme), even better than Walking Dead or Breaking Bad. The first season was amazing. Everything that Turn did wrong, it did right, and then it just continued to go above and beyond.

Speaking of the Swede, I was disappointed with the S4 premiere for Hell on Wheels, not much happened. The one thing I am looking forward to, crazy Bishop Swede leading a cult of crazy Mormons. That is going to be fucking awesome. And yes, Halt and Catch Fire is really great. Awesome acting, fantastic characters, very unique, good pacing, just like Mad Men, they took to time period to their advantage fully(unlike Turn). I just love everything about Halt and Catch Fire, it's a really great show.

If the Swede dies this villain and that Governor guy becomes the new villain, I will be pissed. They can't get rid of the Swede, he's one of the best TV villains ever. And not to stray from the topic of this thread, both of the actually cool villains never got too much of a spotlight in Turn(Roberts and the Redcoat version of the Swede). In fact, there were too many villains that they tried to focus on equally, and so the ones with potential were pushed to the side for the boring ones. *sigh*

His satanic chanting this episode was really weird. Also, I like how all the Mormons think he's an agent of God or something because he can 'speak in tongues' a.k.a, he's just speaking Norwegian and they have no idea what it is. That was pretty funny. And... Did Elam seriously die off screen while fighting a bear? I mean... That's a pretty badass way to out but... A bear? Really? Dies in a bear fight... Weird. And at this point, this should be moved into a separate thread.

So... anyone going to bother watching Season Two? I'm thinking, if it's on amctv.com, I'll give it the first two, maybe three episodes.
