"Luke, he's becoming a danger to the group." One of my favorite lines, he said it exactly like Carlos, but it really was Nick's voice actor, great work there.

Nick is my favorite character this season, and I've been thinking a lot about him. I want to share my thoughts on his nearly shooting Clem, as well as his equally-reckless behavior in Episode 2. This is not meant to explain why people accepted his apology or not, but seemed relevant.
I don't think Nick consciously chose to shoot at Clem and Matthew. He blames himself for what happened to his mother, who got bit when a bite victim they were looking after suddenly reanimated and attacked her. If he'd just reacted fast enough, she'd still be alive. I'm sure that's what he is always telling himself. His friends outside of the group are also dead. The group is therefore all he has. With Clementine, he is suddenly reliving what happened with his mom. When she stirs, he immediately sees her as a walker about to pounce on one of his loved ones. This time, he reacts fast enough, but it's too fast. Same thing with Matthew. Nick raised his weapon first, not the other way around. But that's not what he saw. He saw his best friend and Clem alone with an armed man and immediately believed they were in danger. In his eyes, that weapon was raised, and if he didn't act fast, they were dead.
Nick's not Kenny. He is not callous, just...traumatized. His reckless behavior isn't even conscious like Kenny's. He doesn't want to fail ever again, and he especially doesn't want one of his failures to result in someone he cares about dying.

Nick is amazing. He and Pete are my favourite season 2 characters. I really, really hope he won't die in episode 3, if he survived the second one.

I don't know what to say much about Nick, just that he is a mix of Kenny and Ben cause of his temper and cause he screws up sometimes but he is a good character. I think his determinant death will be much worse than getting killed by Walter.

Nick is my personal favorite from the cabin group. I can empathize with him... with how much he's lost, with how hard he takes it, with how badly he wants to help protect those he cares about, but how he just can't seem to avoid messing up. He's very real.
The comparisons with Kenny and Ben aren't completely unfounded. Though, I don't think he pops his top quite as easily as Kenny might, mostly because Nick isn't opinionated like Kenny is from a leadership or decision-maker standpoint. And Ben was a screw up as well as a borderline coward. He ran away from several chances to save members of his group. Nick has put his life on the line for his, whether he's been in the right or the wrong.

Nick is my favourite cabin group member as well I personally don't think he's Ben 2.0 Ben was a REAL fuck up, but Nick just is short tempered and regrets his mistakes He shot Matthew, but to me, he also would have looked like a danger to Clem and Luke from a distance. Luke waving his arms sure as hell didn't help He felt genuinley bad about it, and wanted to tell Walter the truth no matter what I respect him and think he's a good man

Nick's a good guy. He's made a mistake here and there, but he's only watching out for his friends. And with Pete's death (WHY?!) he's even more messed up than before, now that he's lost his last anchor. I just hope he survives, though I believe the best we'll get is him just disappearing without actually having died sometime before the Season ends. Of course, that's being optimistic, and I'm not holding out much hope.

I was hoping that was what they would do with Kenny, show him alive, then gone, but no they kept him, which means death at some point.

I'm glad Kenny's dying, honestly. They need to put him to rest already. He's had more screentime than Lee, and Lee was the PC for an entire Season. I'll be sad and depressed when he does die, of course, but it's for the best.
