Remember how Eddie shot his buddy in the face? I'm not crazy, but if that guy was my only lifeline (as it seemed was the case), I'd feel the same. And also remember how that old couple tried to shoot him in the face? And how they made a racist comment to Russel? I think many people wouldn't give a shit about those people, either. Less dangerous than Alvin. Alvin is the "Run away" kind of guy. n understand wanting to kill the people who killed his friend/attempted to kill him, but he enjoys it. THAT is what I take issue with. If he were just pissed at Eddie and Wyatt, or the old couple, I'd understand. But he makes it very clear that he doesn't just want to kill them because they wronged him in some way, he wants to do it because he takes pleasure in it. Nate appears to be someone who hasn't simply adjusted to the apocalypse, he seems to thrive in it. If I were killing someone simply for revenge, I wouldn't be as cheery as Nate is. I'd be angry, pissed off, raging, not laughing or joking around as I prepared to blow their brains out. Also, is it fair to label Alvin as a coward at this point? We haven't seen him in any dangerous situation to see how he would react. Sure he's whipped, but that doesn't mean he's a coward. He adjusted too well to being on his own. Not his fault. Perhaps it was a defense mechanism that kept him from feeling depressed. You can blame the human brain for that. If he were to be in a good situation long enough, he would calm down to a mostly acceptable level eventually. It was either that, or have him be irritating and bitchy like S2 Clem. Yes, yes it is. If he can't say a damn word to his cheating wife, he can't do a damn thing in a fight, watch.

He seemed to be having a good time when he was chasing down Wyatt and Eddie, mere minutes after his friend had been killed. That's an awfully fast time to adjust to being alone so well. I'm not buying the defense mechanism thing, especially with the word "perhaps" in there. That's simply supposition at this point. How does Alvin know Rebecca is cheating on him? I thought her monologue in the bathroom made it clear that she was the only one who knew the baby might be someone else's. Besides, we haven't seen Alvin in ANY situation where his wife wasn't around to shout him down. I don't think he'll be a modern Hercules or anything, but I'm not branding him as a coward just yet.

You're right. I worded that wrong. He adjusted too well to loss, and feelings of revenge. This is all supposition, bud. Look at the preview for episode 2. He looks fucking directly at everyone's favorite dumb bitch when he says, "We know EXACTLY who it is," or whatever he says.

Perhaps it's not quite as bad as having an itch to murder, but I still wouldn't want to be around that person. If he likes taking revenge so much, he might just start taking revenge on anyone who gives him a minor slight. And your right, this is all supposition at this point. I thought he was just getting defensive since it was probably a guy from Carver's group. I didn't even see him look at Rebecca, I thought he was just looking up at everyone else. I'm fairly certain he doesn't know yet. I don't think any of them do.

Anything further than that would actually deserve to have some revenge be made. Rebecca was sitting, if I remember, Clem was the only other one sitting. Alvin looked down.

I suppose he did, didn't he? And if Russell pulls the gun on Nate, so long as Russ doesn't try to shoot him, Nate will forgive him for being stressed out and let him cover him. Maybe Nate isn't SO bad that he'd actively try to kill his friends, but no man should have a smile that disturbing when he's contemplating killing helpless old people. They were disarmed and one was even already dying. It was that creepy smile that did it for me. I just watched it, and I didn't see Alvin look down. He was looking at the others.

But the fact that they were racist, and tried to kill him overrode any sense of compassion. Who knows? Maybe Walt had a pistol in his sock, and was waiting for a good chance to pop them. That seems like the right type of situation to form Nate, for sure. Hmm... Well It was Rebecca and Carlos on that side of him, right? What purpose would he have to look at Carlos so angrily for that?

I suppose you're right about Walt possibly having a pistol. I don't see why their being racist should entitle them to one free bullet each from Nate's Lottery of Lead, even though I detest racism and those who judge others simply for their skin color. It's just not how I would have handled that situation. And again... Nate's smile. A picture says a thousand words, and the words Nate's grin was telegraphing to me weren't pretty. He may not have been angry at anyone in the room in particular. It could simply be that Carver is a subject that sets Alvin off. His Berserk Button, if you will. Nobody in the group likes Carver, and Nick and Pete even seem a little afraid. It could be something Carver has done to the group in general, or Alvin and Rebecca in particular. Also... am I the only one who finds it funny that the Bonnie Appreciation Thread turned into the Nate Speculation Thread?

That, combined with the racism made some people say, "You know what? FUCK these people!" It's very possible that Nate could've felt that way. Nate's smile could've been him happy that he saved his boy, and gotten a shitload of new supplies doing it. I guess. But for once, I feel like we've found a pointless topic. This seems almost impossible to argue over, at least until we get a new trailer or something. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh..... Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, dear child.

He does it without blinking, without even looking at them if you choose to stay with him. It freaked Russell out, that's for sure. You're right, it's pointless to argue over this right now. We'll have to wait for the next Episode before we can really say anything about Alvin.

Yeah, and when ending pieces of shit, he would feel good about it. Wouldn't you feel good killing some racist murderer? That's pretty much what they appeared like to Nate.

Besides, how were the old couple murderers? We don't even know that they've actually killed anyone. In fact, they were just defending themselves. They thought Nate was the guy who attacked them earlier and shot Walt's wife. I don't really believe it was Nate who did that, but they were acting in self defense from their point of view. Taking a life is serious business. You are ending that person and taking away everything they were or ever will be. This situation wasn't like the St. Johns or the Save-Lots bandits, these people were just trying to stay alive.
