This isn't a speculation thread.... speculation is occurring within it, but that was not the original purpose.
Secondly, Harp, do you know what happens when you don't attack Dee in Bonnie's scenario? She whacks Bonnie over the head with her flashlight hard enough to kill her. You get a game over message.
Bonnie: Kills someone in the dark without a flashlight.
Dee: Kills someone in the dark with a flashlight.
See the problem?

It still doesn't help that she accidentally killed her friend, and watched as she bled out.

Letting a zombie grab at someone just for the hell of it, even if he knows the window probably won't break, isn't exactly the friendliest behavior. That's not even getting into Nate "covering" Russell. And that slasher smile he put on after he asked if they were going to kill the old couple and take their stuff... that is not a smile that convinces me Nate's mental faculties are operating at peak condition, if you catch my drift.
By which I mean, he's fucking insane.

It seemed pretty clear to me that Dee wasn't making it out of that field no matter what could have been done.

She died within 60 seconds of the injury, bonnie couldn't have done anything.

Little morbid, and definitely out there, but not fucking insane for sure. Same could be said about the zombie. If Russ didn't have the strength to keep his arm away from one zombie, then the kid was going to get bit in minutes.

I would rather be around someone who shot someone they didn't know on accident because they startled them, rather than someone who hid around a fucking corner and got someone who saved their life killed.

Harp, you said it yourself in the shout box, the guy is miles off his rocker (at least I think you said that, might have been someone else). Having said that, I love his character and want to see more of him, but he's crazy.

I always got the feeling that he's smarter than he lets on.

I've got the feeling that while he might not have been the greatest student, he's got a great wit, and is very cunning. Besides, you can't be too stupid and survive 6 months into a apocalypse and still have a working car.

Nate just seems to take too much joy in killing people. I can't remember what it is he says exactly, but he yells something about "Just starting to have fun" in Wyatt's story if Wyatt left the car. It occurs as Wyatt is coming back up to the car, with or without the cop. And again, with that smile he has right before he shoots the old folks...
That being said, up until the part inside the diner, I actually wanted to stay with Nate as his friend. Even after the window zombie/not covering Russell stuff, I just trusted him for some reason when he seemed to get serious. I even said I'd go first when he offered me the gun. Nate may not be ALL bad, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to be around him. He's just dangerous.

I'm not crazy, but if that guy was my only lifeline (as it seemed was the case), I'd feel the same. And also remember how that old couple tried to shoot him in the face? And how they made a racist comment to Russel? I think many people wouldn't give a shit about those people, either. Less dangerous than Alvin. Alvin is the "Run away" kind of guy.

I can understand wanting to kill the people who killed his friend/attempted to kill him, but he enjoys it. THAT is what I take issue with. If he were just pissed at Eddie and Wyatt, or the old couple, I'd understand. But he makes it very clear that he doesn't just want to kill them because they wronged him in some way, he wants to do it because he takes pleasure in it. Nate appears to be someone who hasn't simply adjusted to the apocalypse, he seems to thrive in it. If I were killing someone simply for revenge, I wouldn't be as cheery as Nate is. I'd be angry, pissed off, raging, not laughing or joking around as I prepared to blow their brains out. Also, is it fair to label Alvin as a coward at this point? We haven't seen him in any dangerous situation to see how he would react. Sure he's whipped, but that doesn't mean he's a coward.
