We had to talk about these sooner or later. I want to hear your favorite Western. I haven't seen many myself, but after 3:10 to Yuma and the Red Dead series, I kinda want to, but I don't know where to start.
3:10 to Yuma was one of my favorite movies, pretty much ever. It stars Christian Bale, who can now add disfigured poor person alongside playboy billionaire superhero and fat millionaire thief, who plays Dan Evans, a disfigured, up to his eyeballs in debt, rancher. He gets hired to help deliver a prisoner to Yuma prison by way of train at the closes train station, which is fucking far away, apparently, because it takes them days to reach it. Over the course that it takes to get the prisoner over to Yuma prison, the pack of people intended to deliver him gets slowly killed, one by one, usually by the criminal himself.
(A small, spoiler free clip)
Russel Crow plays Ben Wade, the criminal, who is interesting to say the least.
(A small, somewhat spoiler laden, clip)
And it all culminates in the coolest fucking climax ever.

What's your favorite western, and why, Bromid? Movie? Or just in general? If in general then Red Dead is my choice.

Well RDR because it's an amazing game with awesome gameplay, good story and historically accurate and immersive that made me love the western era. Movie, id say 3:10 to Yuma because it's pretty awesome In general, I love cowboy stuff dude

That fuckin thing outshot forty fucking dudes with pistols and rifles.

Yeah, here's another 3:10 to Yuma thing:
It's the ending of the (not as awesome) 1950s rendition of 3:10 to Yuma. And I'll tell you, they have VERY different endings and stories, as it's only based on the short story, which was nothing but this scene pretty much. So this rendition of the story had a completely different set of characters and story points than the Christian Bale one.

I pick Red Dead Redemption also, so good, I stand by that it was Rockstars best game, and in my opinion better then GTAV even if GTAV was amazing.

My favorite Western movie... I dunno. Hard to pick. I'll just pick True Grit at random, because seeing John Wayne ride straight at the outlaws with a gun in each hand and the reins in his teeth is just fucking badass.
Favorite Western game would be Call of Juarez Gunslinger. I like RDR too, don't get me wrong, but I think Gunslinger captures the essence of the (Hollywood) Wild West so much better. You meet famous outlaws left and right, have showdowns in the street every other level, and you can literally dodge bullets. This might also be my pick for Western game because I enjoy history, especially the American Civil War and the Wild West, and Gunslinger's collectables each tell you about something that related to the Wild West (outlaws, events, weapons, stuff like that) and not how it was portrayed in the game, either, but how it actually was in real life.
