Now THAT is a lie. About 80% are addicted. Granted, 99.99999999% of people on heroin are addicted, but still. "Among individuals who have ever used cannabis, conditional dependence (the proportion who go on to develop dependence) is 9%." www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3371269/#R4Let's see your sources.

Alright, I've met about... 100 people, give or take, who have tried marijuana, and of that, most have admitted to being addicted, and others clearly are. Of them, they've all said that they know a LOT more people. Most of which were addicted.

"I know a guy who knows a guy" is not evidence. I have scientific evidence from the National Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing with a representative sample of 10641 of Australian adults.

Oh, I've been to rehabs (visiting family, not attending) and the vast majority there were marijuana addicts. Granted, I don't remember their names (thereby excluding them from the hundred), but the vast majority were in for addiction to marijuana. Also, I know a guy who knows a guy doesn't count as evidence, but knowing many people who are intertwined with that world, should.

How do you know so much about drugs? I am not accusing you of anything, just wondering.

You're ignoring base rates, bro. A majority of people in rehab centers are there for marijuana addiction because there are way the fuck more marijuana user than there are heroin users. In the US, about 25 million people are thought to have used marijuana. 10% of 25 million is still 2.5 million people, which I'm betting is way more than the number of heroin users in the US.

And by that logic alone, it's likely enough that Wyatt and Eddie were addicted.

And Bio, my family has been twined with drugs since long before I was born. The fact that me and my brother haven't done drugs is a miracle by statistical standards.

If by "likely enough," you mean that there's a 10-20% chance, then yes, likely enough.

Out of millions of people?
Yeah, more than likely enough.

By the way, what are you using for the basis of addicted? Because there's a difference for having withdrawal and physical addiction.

I think you're misunderstanding the statistics. In a given population of pot users, 10% of them are addicts. If we treat Eddie and Wyatt as 2 single random samples out of that population of drug users, there is a 10% chance of each of them being addicted and a 1% chance of both of them being addicted.
I'm just using whatever's being officially recognized as addicted according to the APA (American Psychological Association).

Bah, I haven't been through anything extreme. My mom has done everything in her power to keep us from it. Constantly lecturing us about how it fucked up her and my dad, and my dad's been trying to get away from it for years, upon years, upon years, and not doing too well. My brother and I know far too much about it to ever try it. Other than that, The only family I've had contact with is my Aunt, who, while slightly terrifying, did much of the same of what my mom did. And, by a statistical miracle, I mean that I'm the son of an addict who's a son of an addict etc. etc. Making me like, 10x more likely to do that, according to some statistic somewhere I've long forgotten.
