Honestly, if the season ends on a really damn good high note or if it will be crap, I still enjoyed the season nonetheless and I prefer it over the other crappy reboots of TTG and PPG. I'm just glad that we're finally getting a conclusion to the series, wether good or bad we will see. FUCK THAT why even compare? None of those shows had the main showrunner return. Even if the ending sucks which is may or may not happen, its still FAR BETTER then that garbage.

at first, when it happened, i was a bit dumbfounded when it happened, but then i remembered it's a cartoon, and decided not to care too much. i wouldn't let it get to me too obsessed with what happened.

In spite of some problems I have about the series I think just making that comparasion is underscoring the season, you are comparing it to the lowest common denominator of post renaissance Western Cartoons. Edit, didn't notice that Bio had already bringed that up.

This is extremely concerning.
Genndy has 40 minutes to conclude this series and they had to shoehorn in a love interest at this point. I'd have settled for a mentor/apprentice type relationship with Jack and Ashi, but this does not make sense at all.
I swear if Ashi has a major influence on the ending, I'm going to be livid. The beginning of this season was the best.
You mean you don't want Jack dying and Ashi being the one who kills Aku??? Nah man, watch the ending be Ashi dying during the fight with Aku. Jack wins, and instead of going back to his own past, he goes back and tries to save Ashi.

Well, RIP Scaramouche and Guardian. And holy crap, that ending. Guess the Scotsman and his army will most likely appear in the next and final episode. Holy shit, just one more episode left, I can't believe it.

There's no way the next episode won't feel rushed, unless it'll be an hour long

Beautifull animation on Jack's flashback.
I Always thought Jack was younger when Aku unleashed his evil.
Ashi and Jack still have negative chemistry. The fact he leaves her behind may reassure my previous point
Scaramouche finally made it (literal words). And then it turns out that Aku has GTFO'ed. But then it turn out he didn't and Scaramouche fucking bet his life on it... And then then they go schwifty.
Also RIP Guardian of the Portal, you deserved better than a broken glass cameo.
Aku and Scaramouche have a surprissingly low awareness to not realize that Jack got his sword back. And that ends Scaramouche rightly.
Notice that Ashi's mother used Aku's essence without this consent? It's adds up to the predictable "I am your father" scenario. Also notice that Jack has only hit on Aku pretending to be a woman and with a woman with Aku's essence?
Amazing animation on the fight scene even if it was a blit "floaty"
And the way Aku decides to not kill Jack so he can torture and humilliate him seems like a good tie in on how his fahter was originally defeated.
I should really try to write a coherent text with several sentences, but I can't be bothered.

Honestly, is watching ep9 even worth it? I'm tempted to just drop the show.

IMO, the episode is a good setup for the finale so, maybe give it a try atleast if you want. Here's the link: watchcartoonsonline.eu/watch/samurai-jack-s05e09-c/

Much better than the last episode, thankfully, aside from the first part like Potato says.
Still not a fan of this JackxAshi stuff tho.

So there's no way the Guardian's going to fight Jack. This actually pisses me off.
How many of you want to bet that Genndy will replace the Scotsman and his army with extra Ashi scenes? She'll probably be able to send Jack into the past with her "Aku" powers, but I'm worried on literally everything that this has built up to.
