Please don't be shit. Oxenfree was good so I have some hope, but they could've just got lucky with that. Also I cant shake the feeling it's gonna be some shit gimmicky app rather than a game with the whole ECorp messenger thing as well as all the references to phone OS and no hint towards console or PC. Lets hope not.

the Ecorp messaging exfiltration.apk thing is released on googplay play, I think? heres the description, sounds good
"From Night School Studio, the award-winning creators of Oxenfree, comes Mr. Robot:1.51exfiltrati0n.ipa. Taking place during the first season of USA Network’s Golden Globe Award-winning drama, you find a smart phone on the ground outside the Fun Society Arcade at Coney Island. Little do you know that the phone belongs to Darlene, a black hat hacker who’s about to commit the biggest cybercrime the world has ever seen… and she needs her phone back to do it.
Become embroiled in the world of fsociety, a renegade hacker group determined to “reset the world,” by texting different employees of their target corporation: E-Corp, a massive global tech company.
Steal, cheat and lie your way through this technological minefield while dealing with Elliot’s fractured personality, and trying to keep your own information safe.
In Mr. Robot:1.51exfiltrati0n.ipa, you’ll use the E-Corp messaging app to communicate in real time with characters from the show, making dialog choices that directly affect how the story flows. Make a choice then live with the far-reaching consequences in this hi-tech narrative drama driven by YOU.
Internet connection not required once downloaded. This game does not feature in-app purchases, and is ad-free."

I bought it, currently playing right now. They're nailing Darlene's character.
It's pretty cool, currently waiting for Darlene to text me back, it's been like 5 minutes.

This... actually kinda doesn't interest me. The whole phone thing just murders it for me. Damn.

How is the writing quality? Also, is it friendly to play for people not familiar with the show?

Well, I'm not all that interested in this. I don't know, I just hate those things where it tries to insert you, the player, into the universe of whatever it is. Just always kills the entire thing for me.

How is the writing quality? Also, is it friendly to play for people not familiar with the show? The writing is believable and the one character from the show I've interacted with was pretty accurate. I wouldn't suggest playing this without knowing the show, you'll be about as confused as the main character if you do and you won't get nearly as much out of it since you won't know any of the characters or references. Also I'm enjoying it so far, though I not a fan of all the waiting required, like I had to wait over an hour at one point for the story to continue.

I had to wait about 2 hours for Darlene to reply, then we talked for about 30 seconds, got added to some random group chat, then had to wait about over 15 hours for Darlene to respond again, now I'm waiting again, instead of a different character sending me something.

That's why the wait timestaff are so long.

It's pretty funny/weird how there is absolutely no mention or promotion of this by the Mr. Robot social media accounts.
