Is it just me or was the chat with Norma such formulaic TWDG villain stuff? As in, 'there's no point to this conversation because I'm only going to believe what I want to and there's no decent dialogue options anyway'. We had it with the Stranger, with Carver... it feels very cut-and-paste to me. That's the problem with TT. They can't come up with a compelling villain in TWD - and if they do, they quickly ruin them (e.g. Carver). I mean, everytime it's "We're trying to adapt in the world gone mad, don't blame us, you're a killer too, you have to realize that", blah blah blah. It might work sometimes, but not here - because we're told that Michonne's one tough bitch (but with a dark past, burdened with guilt, blah blah blah... ) And I don't know how it works in the comics/TV show, but I don't know how Michonne managed to survive up to this point with her kids haunting her. Or maybe it just came up right now and Michonne will miraculously get over her past in Ep3 (because, I guess, she doesn't reappear in the source material with this PTSD...) Oh, it just reminded me - cool intro music! But I think HBO wants their True Detective opening credits back, Telltale. (JK, it looked awesome. I dare say it was the best part of the entire episode...) I'll this episode will also have a special place in my heart due to the fact that it caused a first (minor) argument regarding videogames between me and my other half. Screw this, I can also blame TT for that When it comes to Telltale Villains, they can do one hell of a job... when its not TWD. They either aren't villains, are barely in the game, or die very, very quickly. Goddamn it! Take a few pages from TWAU, GOT, and TFTBL!!! Also what type of argument?

Randall will be dead in episode 2 probably (best character) Norma will die episode 2 as well probably
Then episode 3 will be Michonne walking around with whoever the fuck is even left alive (possibly only 3 characters knowing Telltale) and then maybe a Rick cameo at the end.

and then maybe a Rick cameo at the end. With either Scott Porter or Andrew Lincoln as Rick (the last one if we're lucky)/

And when they created Nate, who could be either an anti hero or a villain, and people loved him, Telltale just forgot about him. Oh fuck me, I actually forgot about poor Nate. The one time they made a really cool badguy, and they didn't kill him off, they kinda sorta just forgot about him. Really? Almost everyone else from 400 Days gets a mention or shows up, but arguably the best character is nowhere to be seen? And they bloody knew we loved the shit out of Nate, I can't think of one person who didn't like him, scumbags!

I agree that Randall is the best character. He's so fucking loud and brash. Maybe that's simply disguising the fact that he's a hollow character, but for now it's intriguing. The scene where he's hollering in Zachary's face was well-done, I thought.
Also, I was stunned when Pete survived the episode. STUNNED. I thought it would be typical Telltale to be like "here's a strong, leader companion for Michonne, isn't he so great OH HE'S DEAD, YOU'RE ALL ALONE GOTTA MAKE DECISIONS YOURSELF!"

Oh yeah, the scene where hes yelling in Zacharys face is another thing I liked. But then Zachary just kills Greg and then I'm just like "lol ok" Btw, Pete shows up in the comics, I think so he'll live past the last episode

Yeah, everyone on the boat, I think, lives to end. Definitely Pete and Siddiq, anyway.

Michonne will try to stop them, to no avail. When Pete will get the upper hand, Michonne will kill him with her machete. Then, after a teary-eyed goodbye, a sound of a zip will be heard nearby and stuff will fall out of it. Michonne will confront Sam about this, and Sam will say "It was the only way to make you see. He waz crazy, I couldn't let him get anywhere near that duffel bag, so I hid it. Michonne, I DID THIS FOR YOU!" And Michonne will either forgive her or not. Roooooll credits!

By the way, they've got Jay Bonansinga as a story consultant on this, so... that's interesting. He co-wrote the first four Walking Dead Novels with Kirkman, telling The Governor's Backstory and his story in the comics from the perspective of Lilly Caul. I thought those books were actually pretty good.
He's actually doing that series by himself now, continuing Lilly's story past The Governor, but I haven't read either of the two books since Fall of the Governor Part 2, so I really can't say how good he is without Kirkman.

Pete is in the comics, so he ain't dying any time soon. We can just abuse his plot armor like I did with Michonne during the interrogation.

I know he wrote those TWD books, but Jay Bonansinga wrote what is probably my favorite book of all time, The Sinking of the Eastland, America's Forgotten Tragedy. He can be quite a good writer.

Is it crazy to say that I think the best boat crew member was Roberto? He only got one tiny scene with Michonne that ended with him getting back to work before he got yelled at and one even smaller bit when Pete says that he just quit smoking. Call me crazy, but normalcy play with me. Look at the two other boat characters we got stuffed down our throats, Pete with his overused "people matter and are worth saving" and Oak with his even more overused "fuck people I'm acting as a foil towards Pete!" In his ridiculously short time on screen, Roberto sort of reminded me of Nick. Just had a middle of the street inherent sadness to him.
