dude minecraft is best game ever wtf u talkin about Jokes aside, we may just be asking this question in a couple of months: Did Minecraft: Story Mode murder Telltale Games and OTWDF? Fact: Telltale has not released a quality episode of anything since Minecraft became the stand alone Telltale release. Fact: OTWDF has not maintained it's activity since Minecraft became the stand alone Telltale release. Until proven otherwise on both accounts, #CurseOfMinecraft #MinecraftGate I just don't even pay attention to anything Telltale anymore. Nothing good coming out anymore.

I thought about exactly the same thing!

I'm going to say something crazy. Bear with me.
I don't think there's going to be an episode 5. It's way too quiet out there. No like the kind of quiet you find in a Western town right before something bad is going to go down on main street and everyone is hiding in the saloon, the kind of quiet you find in a Western ghost town. I think Telltale originally planned on five episodes, realized that they only had enough story for four, panicked and decided to stick with the five episode plan on the basis of changing things up for a really special finale. There won't be one. Here's why.
Who is the target market for Minecraft: Story Mode? Kids. Kids and maybe some scattered Telltale fans.
With the latter, who would really care if there were no episode 5? Barely anyone is following along. Just look at this board... the majority of Telltale fans love Telltale because their games featured great stories that are either funny or deeply depressing. That's how it's been since The Walking Dead. Hell, probably even before that. Minecraft since the beginning hasn't captured the Telltale audience nor does it feel like a game that fits within the Telltale mold. Very few of those players would care, aside from maybe thinking about the $4-5 Telltale stole.
Now, kids... tell me, what's one of the most common characteristics in children? Short attention spans. They don't understand the promise of five episodes. They just know that when a new episode is out, play it. Kids care about stories. The story of Minecraft: Story Mode? It's complete. Wrapped. There's not one loose end. Remember the scene in Elf when Buddy the Elf's dad Walter Hobbs' is being chewed out by his boss because he signed off on a book to go to print when it wasn't finished? Kids were upset because they wanted to know "how a certain puppy and a certain pigeon escape the clutches of a certain evil witch." The story wasn't finished so kids noticed and bemoaned the fact. Minecraft IS finished. The children are satisfied having been given a complete story. Really, Telltale didn't need to do anything with them. But since they had the other players, they had to make promises of another great, special episode. To a child, that's like promising something really special and awesome and totally cool! ...But it's something that won't happen right away, but in a couple of months. What does that kid do? He might pester you for a few days about it hoping to be told what it is or to get it now. Eventually, that kid stops giving a fuck and forgets.
So, now, Telltale is playing the waiting game. They're stalling, hoping that if they wait long enough, everyone will just forget that Minecraft: Story Mode was even supposed to have five episodes. When you look at who buys and plays this game, it's an ingenious strategy. Didn't fool me because I'm as sharp as a bear trap in cave full of stalagmites and stalactites, but very smart nonetheless.

Is it weird that after hearing about all of the TWDM news, I thought the same thing? I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if when Ep. 1 of Michonne comes out they remove the Ep. 5 thumbnail. I bet alot of people who bought the game though are gonna ask for their $5 back they spent on this episode though.

If that happens, I will be rather pissed. I never bought MSM, but paying five extra dollars for nothing is bullshit!

Eh, I've wasted worse. Just today the ticket printer crashed while buying movie tickets and I didn't want to be bothered to stand in the box office line to explain the situation so I just bought two tickets. Life is just one big waste of money.

True, but I would be slightly annoyed.

Telltale wouldn't do that. There is literally no benefit for doing so, and even if "teh kiddez" didn't pick up on that, the gaming press and the parents who spent money certainly would, not to mention it would tarnish Telltale's reputation for being able to reliably complete a series in the future. It would look unprofessional, and they would have no gain for it - heck, I'm sure it would probably be illegal in some senses of the word to charge for something and not deliver on it. Besides, staff members working on the game on Twitter have been talking about working on it.
However, for a kid's game, I do agree them taking so long probably isn't too much of a good move to make, though.

Uh-oh, been almost two weeks since my expose! #MINECRAFTGATE
(Man, can you imagine if I ever in a million years end up right on this? I don't think there'd be a more impressive "called it" moment in human history. In all honesty, amazing that it's only been two months since episode 4. How the fuck did we all deal with the FOUR MONTH wait in between Zer0 Sum and Atlas Mugged?)
