Some one stop me. I'm buying too many comics. I just spent $100 on comics. Help. I think I'm going to end up there soon since I've started buying comics again recently, though it's only £30/$45ish so far.

Random tangential thing barely connected to this: The artist on one of the books I bought, Nailbiter, apparently worked on TMNT. Which is funny, since Nailbiter is possibly the most disturbing comic I've ever read.

You ever see the equivalent of robotic piranhas eat a Decepticon alive? Yeah it's alot more bloody than you think...

Yeah it's alot more bloody than you think... Nailbiter is about a guy who eats people's fingers and I don't know what it is because it's not super gory, but...... That just really makes me a little sick.

Well, I'll just talk about some stuff I've read recently.
Nailbiter is awesome, which is great because it could have easily failed for me. But it didn't! It takes that "small town with a dark secret" vibe and really makes it work. It states Twin Peaks as an influence, and you can definitely see that. The art style is great, and the story is really dark and disturbing without losing itself in that, it has some great characters that really ground it.
Basic Synopsis: 16 of the worlds worst serial killers were born and raised in Buckaroo Oregon. After the most recent, and most famous of the butchers, Edward " Nailbiter" Warren, is caught, a detective investigates the town. After supposedly finding the connection between the butchers and contacting Detective Finch of the FBI, this detective goes missing. Finch and the Sheriff, Shannon Crane, look into the detectives disappearance, and continue his investigation into the connection between the butchers.
Saga was pretty great. I'm not sure what to think of Brian K. Vaughn. I think Y: The Last Man is really overrated, but I really loved Saga. Again, great art style, great characters, if you get the chance to, read it.
It's about a family between the horned people of Wreath, and the winged people of Landfall, a planet and it's moon. The story specifically follows Marko(from Wreath) and Alana(from Landfall), along with their child Hazel, the first child between the Horns and Wings. It's just a really great series.
I'm still reading Invincible, and it's still good. I've talked about it here before.
I've also been reading Batgirl(I like the more recent books, which have a whole new team, as opposed to the earlier ones), and Scott Snyder's Batman, which has been excellent.

As for stuff I've read recently...well let's see:
I'm not gonna bother mentioning the Sonic comics I constantly read, because at this point you'll only really enjoy them if you're a Sonic fan. I mean it does have it points where it's good by itself, but after the reboot that occurred like 3 years ago due to some copyright bullshit it's hardly the comic it was back then.
What I AM gonna recommend though is IDW's Transformers series. The books have been going on for about 10 years now spanning 4 different comic series. The current series, Robots in Disguise, and More Than Meets the Eye, both are really good and are easy to follow even if you haven't read the other two series yet.
Robots in Disguise (Now rebranded as just Transformers in order to avoid confusion with the Robots in Disguise TV show) is essentially the "main" comic that's a direct sequel to the previous series titled Transformers 2010. The designs are based off the original G1 era as opposed to the Michael Bay movies or the more recent Prime cartoon, but it still maintains a really likable story. Humans play a minor role in it, but the focus is mainly on the Autobots and Decepticons battling it out.
More Than Meets the Eye however, is my favorite out of the two series. MTMtE is sort of like a series of side stories that take place on everywhere except Earth. The main cast of this series is also better IMO, as it's composed of practically every single side character that appeared for like one or two issues in the beginning of Robots in Disguise. It's a bit more dark compared to Robots in Disguise, as like plenty of characters die in this series.
If you're interested, I recommend waiting until June when IDW releases a conpendium of the first TF series, consisting of the Infiltration, Devastation, and Revelation stories, then collect the rest as more conpendiums are released.

Recently I've only really been reading Daniel Way's Deadpool series, I saw a 400 page compilation (is that the word?) of the first few comics for £15 and I couldn't resist, and I knew I'd like it enough since I've got a few of the issues already. It's pretty damn good, balances the jokes and story quite well, which is a bit of a problem with the Deadpool game (which I think Daniel Way wrote as well funnily enough), it was all jokes and like just the bare minimum for a story.
I'm halfway through that at the minute with the 2nd part ordered, and I plan on getting back into Ultimate Spiderman, which isn't based off the cartoon by the way. Used to read that years ago but just stopped because I couldn't afford it, it was really damn good as far as I remember.

He's actually found not guilty during his trial, and moves back to his house in Buckaroo, which causes all sorts of problems amongst the townsfolk knowing that one of the butchers in living among them. He's a pretty important character, but he's not really the villain, nor does he have a "Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs" sort of role in the story. In fact, Finch says something along the lines of "This isn't Silence of the Lambs and we're not teaming up" when Warren just kind of assumes that they'll want his help with the investigation. (They do question him, but he's definitely no Hannibal Lector)

Holy shit, the third Batman book, Death of the Family, was incredible. I mean, there were moments where I knew Joker was making completely empty threats because I'd read books later in the canon, but those scenes still made me really uncomfortable, almost physically ill. That was definitely the best Batman book I've read so far.

As someone reading both Batgirl and Batman I can confirm that this is basically all you will ever need to know about either of those characters:

Very torn right now between reading the individual issues for Batgirl, or waiting on the TPBs...
I seriously love the more recent ones. They're hilarious, the characters are great, I love all of the storylines, the art is fantastic. As it is for me, I loved Batgirl of Burnside, and I really did like "Family Business", too, although, somethings with Nightwing and Batman confused me a bit. I'm simply not caught up with Batman, but.... Ugh, I don't want to start reading Nightwing... My wallet needs a fucking break. I mean, I love Nightwing as a character, but...
The earlier books are kinda "eh" for me right now. They switch the artists up too much and none of them I don't think are particularly good. I mean, there's nothing cohesive and it doesn't stand out. :/ I personally am not a huge fan of Grag Capullo(Batman artist), but his style is cohesive, and it at least is pretty unique, you take notice of it. Can't say either of those things for early Batgirl.
So.... basically, I probably could wait for the third Stewart/Tarr Batgirl book, as I still need to get caught up with the earlier books anyway, but at the same time... I like the more recent ones more, and I really want to continue reading them as soon as possible.

Also: Nailbiter continues to be fantastic. Invincible is fucking awesome. My Comic Book shop didn't have Batman Vol. 4 I plan to give Invincible a break I think and just get more Batman and Batgirl books. My birthday is kind of coming up, so I know my Uncle will get me some Invincible books then.
