I had the option to read a book by her for my 9th grade English Honors summer Project. Went with All Quiet on the Western Front, although the book by her would have been my second pick. She writes Mystery Novels, right? Yeah. If you get the chance, read 'And Then There Were None'. Probably the most classic murder mystery novel from her. That's the one I picked All Quiet on the Western Front over. I'm definitely interested, and will probably look for it in the library or something to fill the wait to End of Watch next year once I've finished Finders Keepers. I have a feeling that, at least as far as genre, they may be somewhat similar. I need to start reading some more authors other than King anyway.

I picked All Quiet on the Western Front and never regretted it.

Just finished the book version of The Martian. Fantastic book. I'm definitely glad I saw the movie first. Killed some of the suspense to see the movie first, but I'm sure I would not have enjoyed the movie at all, had I read the book first. All of the interesting scientific explanations were cut out, and a lot of scenes just didn't make much sense. The book depicts Mark as way more cautious and intelligent than the movie did, too, which was interesting.

Read And then there were None, or Ten Little Indians as its sometimes called. Classic Agatha Christy, which is great.

Oh, and I am currently reading Bruce Campbell's biography, really great, and yeah I agree that its hard to be a decent person in Hollywood and be successful.

Anyone get Harry Potter and the Cursed Child? I'm already like a quarter of the way through it and it's pretty good.

Haven't read an actual book in quiet some time, but I need o finish the Dark Tower series before the first movie in February, since the movies are actually sequels, not adaptations.

@zyphon I finally got Outcast Volume 3 along with the first Transformers compendium at my comic book store. I'm reading the Transformers one right now, but I'll definitely post my thoughts on volume three of Outcast when I'm done with TF.

Wow. Just finished reading The Sparrow. The Ending of TWD S1 seems like a walk in the park compared to that. Was literally just broken down and emotionally drained after that book. Holy shit...

Just finished "Who Fears Death" by Nnedi Okafor. Sort of a post-apocalyptic/sci-fi/fantasy adventure type thing. Decided to read it since it's being turned into an HBO series with George R.R. Martin as an executive producer, and also I've been meaning to read books from a more diverse range of authors. It was pretty good, don't want to spoil much, but yeah, it was an enjoyable read.
I'm listening to American Gods now on audiobook bc the sequel to it, Anansi Boys is part of my readings for my Fantasy Lit. class, so I figured I should read American Gods first. I think I actually like it more than the TV Show so far. Gaiman's prose is really good, got kind of a rhythm to it, and his imagery is fantastic. The voice is a little passive, but I like it so far.
After that I'm planning on reading Stephen King's new book Sleeping Beauties. Don't know much about it, but it's a new King book so I'm excited.

dead thread in dead board One good thing about having so much free time in college is it's encouraged me to take out some books from the library and get back into reading. I read a few Isaac Asimov short stories, of varying quality. Waterclap is the only one of those I'd really consider brilliant all around, the others all had their own pros and cons. One had an interesting premise but a boring ending, one had a boring start but an interesting ending, one had an interesting backstory but a boring main plot, and one of them seemed like quite a generic dystopian sci-fi story and didn't really go anywhere with its ideas.
I've also been reading some Agatha Christie short stories, pretty good stuff. One thing I really like is that even though the stories in the collection I'm currently reading are really short (one of them was literally 10 pages long, and that's with somewhat large font), they all have some twist to them that you have to try and guess. I guessed the twist correctly before the end in about two stories out of 9.

I haven't read a book for fun in forever. I've had the diary of Anne Frank sitting on my desk for a few months, but I haven't come around to reading it yet.
