People were similarly confused about how Telltale could make a good story out of Borderlands, but in the end it won people over. Obviously, Minecraft won't have as much mature humor or storytelling as Borderlands, but I'm still convinced Telltale will surprise people in a similar way. I think they'll make the equivalent of a Pixar type story, where they take a premise that at face value is only for kids and make something that a broader audience can enjoy. Of course, a broader audience is not the same as an audience of everyone that enjoys Walking Dead/Borderlands/Wolf/Game of Thrones/etc, but I don't think it's worth dismissing just at face value either if Borderlands taught us anything is what I'm getting at. Even if it is a kiddie game, I think it'll be a good kiddie game that others can also enjoy in their own way, like how people enjoyed the Toy Story movies.

There is a huge difference between Borderlands and Minecraft. Borderlands has a REALLY interesting world, and has always had an amazing. Even in the shitty first game I could see that. Minecraft has pretty much nothing worth noting, except the Endermen are kind of mysterious and interesting. This is definitely worth dismissing at face value. Like I've said before, the game is practically already sold. There is no reason to make it good. Kids will dog their parents for the season pass, and that'll be that. They might make a decent first episode (if that's even possible with such a shitty, blank, and ugly world), and that's just to sucker people into the season passes. While I do like TTG games more than most other games, I never doubt TTG's business sense. Not since S2.

Eh, I think it'll be fine for the demographic they're aiming at, which like Blind said, is most likely kids. I'm not going to play it (probably), but I'm not going to trash it either.

Eh....
I might buy episode one if people say it's good.
I mean, I'm not dismissing it entirely, but I do struggle to think of what they're going to do. I mean, if they do a totally original story... then there's not much about it that will make it Minecraft, is there? Maybe aside from the art style and a few creepers and endermen, but that's it.
They could do a story about the world of Minecraft, I suppose. So... what, that's pretty much just the Nether, the End, and.... that's it. Just a story about some people trying to find the end for some reason. Add an actual story over top the process of: Make a Nether Portal, find a Nether Fortress, get some Ender Eyes, find the End, kill the dragon." It could work, I suppose...
Third option, involve the community and stuff. You know, Herobrine and what not. Israfael or something. Some of the more popular Minecraft community related stuff. Honestly, I think that's the worst thing they could do.
So to my mind, they make something that fails at being Minecraft: Story Mode, but might be decent.
They make what would essentialy be Minecraft: Story Mode, which to be honest, isn't something I'd be terribly interested in.
Or they make something that will sell like hot cakes, but will ultimately be shit.
And seeing as they went with Minecraft in the first place... I think I have an idea of what they'll go with.
Nevertheless, it could be good. I'll wait and see.

I don't know, aiming for a Pixar/Disney level of quality is really shooting for the stars. Not that I don't think Telltale can write bad, but that is a difficult goal to achieve to say the least.

Who doesn't? Also I would really ask anyone to watch Up or Hunchback of Notre Dame and tell me those were made just for kids. God I love Pixar/Disney, made my childhood good, and continue to impress even as I get older.

True, very very true, I think to compare Pixar and Disney films to Minecraft is probably a bit of a disservice, that is simply a goal that is probably impossible to hit anyway.

I'm not a betting man, but if I had to guess out of those three choices, it would totally be the third option, fuck quality, lets go with pure profit!

Not bad! I'm curious, why did only 25% let Beskha get her revenge? The only point why I'd consider my choice is maybe that the 3rd guy (I already forgot his name, lol ) who was with them could tell Daenerys that we disobeyed his order. They should give us more time for the choices! Sometimes I need to press a random pütion just because I can't read it fast enough - and I'm not having problems to translate them, it's just not enough in my opinion.
