Good first episode. Very different from the main show. Look forward to being disappointed if you want action.

Can someone tell me in 2 sentences what it is about? TWD at the start of the apocalypse in Los Angeles. It was cool. It doesn't have a lot of action though, at least for now.

Couldn't hype myself up to watch tonight knowing that this'll move very slowly. I'll get around to it sometime this week.

S'okay I guess. Definitely good, but I was maybe expecting more. First off, I hate Madison. Don't like the character, don't like the actress either. Just.... I don't like her. Aside from that.... Travis is like.... an okay character. Not sure what to make of him. I like Nick, but I have a sneaking feeling that the whole junkie storyline won't be going anywhere. I hope I'm wrong, because that could be interesting. Was given no reason to care about the Alicia or Christopher yet. Honestly, I'm disappointed by how they handled the family dynamic.... mainly in that it was given zero attention, aside from the fact that maybe Nick trusts Travis more than his Mom, but then he's sort of maybe bad-mouthing Travis with Alicia, and then Alicia doesn't like Nick, but then she does, and honestly, a lot of it seemed a bit.... flip-floppy. No solid or interesting relationships between any of the characters thus far. And little action, which I was okay with. I'm really just kind of underwhelmed at how they handled the whole family dynamic. Aside from that, as I had suspected, the scene with Tobias was a fucking joke, and there were a few things that stuck out as being particularly bad. Most of the stuff at the school, honestly. And just... some of the dialogue seemed a bit..... choppy. I feel that's more through fault of the writers than the actors, since it was persistent throughout, but some of the actors seemed to compensate for it. Best thing about the show right now are its locations and the cinematography. Had a very "movie" feel to it, and especially in the church, there were some good moments. Like when Travis went back there, and fell right onto the blood. The whole set-up for him finding something, and then tripping and landing in all the blood and guts. Strong cinematography and directing. About the only noticeably positive things. I give it a.... 6/10, let's say for the first episode.

Dare I say.... I kinda dig this show? Me too. Nick's my favorite so far. Same here. He's easily the most fleshed out so far. I hope the junkie thing isn't ditched quickly. The transformation from deadbeat junkie to presumably a walker-killing survivalist should be awesome.

Guess what! They already announced another season with 12 episodes instead of 6. Yeah... I don't know about that, its really interesting now, but at a point its just going to be more Walking Dead, and that kinda loses appeal. Wouldn't this work better as a mini-series?

Just watched it, and I gotta say that I'm not a fan. The snail's pace with which it moved literally put my mother to sleep multiple times throughout and I can see why. None of the characters are particularly likable, which is the best I can say about them. The kids are straight up annoying, save for Nick who is just a junkie prick I can't stand. I cannot find it in myself to like him in the slightest. About the only thing I can say I liked was the setting of LA.
Gonna give it another chance. If I'm not grabbed by Episode 2 I think I'll probably just drop the series. I really don't care about any of these people as of right now.

So far the series looks good. I can't stand Nick though. I know they're trying to make him up to be the main protagonist, but he just doesn't do it for me. Travis, Alicia, and Tobias are my favorites so far.

This episode felt much better IMO. I'm starting to like Chris somewhat, certainly more than Nick. Sucks we'll have to wait another two weeks for the next episode.
