To be honest, I would buy it for you - I get the feeling you'd probably like it - if I myself had money at the moment. Money to spare, that is. There is one character I really do think you'd like, since you liked Bluebeard for the reason that he was an asshole, but not a villain. This character's kind of like that, also pretty arrogant, but unlike most asshole/arrogant characters, he can back it up most of the time. I actually really liked him, but I could tell that the game wanted me to hate him. Almost every other time there was an option to talk to him in Chapter 3, there was also a choice to hit him. Dude, awesome. Thankfully it sounds like he doesn't end up becoming a villain, like Bluebeard did. To my knowledge, no, he doesn't become a villain, in the first game, anyway. He does try to undermine your decisions as the leader of the caravan a few times in Chapter 3.

To which I'm sure many people responded with the "Knock him out" choice, which in one single chapter, appeared 3 times.

So @zyphon
How long is this game? Like how long did it take you to beat it your first time?

So @zyphon How long is this game? Like how long did it take you to beat it your first time? I can't give you a really accurate time. Steam says 19 hours, but I've started a second playthrough, and left it running one night. Most people complain that it's too short. I think it might be around 10-12 hours? Maybe?

A translation of the lyrics:
We are all guests upon the land.
Never to stay in one place.
A noble name Shall never perish.
I will not be forgotten

And this song:
Onward, As the endless sun lights a path Only the brave can follow
Onward, Every fighting step and stumble Is not without reason
Onward, Atonement rests beneath the stars For those who earn the night - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Áfram veginn sem sólin eilífa lýsir og aðeins hinir hugdjörfu geta farið.
Áfram. Hvert spjótalag og hver hrösun á sér orsakir.
Áfram. Friðþæging undir stjörnuhimni bíður þeirra sem verðskulda næturhvíld.

I'm so getting this game when I get around to getting steam money. Which will probably be a while.

Really? Well that's funny because I just saw that recently for my Christmas marathon, great film by the way, and yeah now that you mention it, I knew it was one of the Classic era Disney films, but yeah that one in particular, no other film looks like that, it really resembles tapestry, the type you find in old castles, and, yeah the Banner Saga really looks like that, great work on there part, that can't have been easy to do.

So I finnaly got around to beating the game. Really beating myself up for letting Allette take the silver arrow to "kill" the Bower. Or whatever the immortal dredge is called. She's dead and now the game is over, and I'm pretty sure there would be more of the game if she had survived.

She's dead and now the game is over, and I'm pretty sure there would be more of the game if she had survived. I don't believe there is, it's a choice between her surviving, or Rook. Alette died in my main game as well. Never quite got around to doing a second playthrough. I probably will do it once more information on the sequel is given. Also, it was Bellower.
I'm assuming that the choices will carry over to the next game, and that whoever survived will be the main character. I hate that only one of them can live. q_q

I'm finally going to try and finish my second playthrough, now armed with the knowledge of how to keep most of the characters alive. Also, the change the final choice at the end. I'm really looking forward to the second game. Some people have complained about the gameplay(it's not complex enough) and the length(it's too short), but I really didn't care. I do hope that the choices carry over(especially the choice right at the end of the game), and that the animations are better. The trailer for the second game has voice acting, so I hope the actual game does, too. Honestly, I was kind of taken out of the experience by how neutral all of the characters were in certain scenes. When they're supposed to be screaming, they just look totally neutral. It's weird. Also, the lack of animated cutscenes. The animation is so good, and it's not seen much outside the gameplay. Also, minor thing, the characters during gameplay need more models. Some of them are just re-skins. And if you're going to do that, maybe make the default model look like the most important character with that class? I mean, Rook, the main character of the entire game, is a re-skin of Erik, a character who appears for a short while in the first chapter, and then again for a short while in Chapter 3. And he's determinant anyway. And they don't even look alike much, so it was really weird.... They did the same with Ludin, but even though Ludin is a much more minor character, it was somehow worse, because the character he was a reskin of doesn't even appear in the game at all unless you got him as a reward during the kickstarter campaign. It just really bothered me, and I hope they don't do it in the second game. And, to speak more specifically of it, but with some spoilers: I'm going to be so disappointed if Rook or Alette either dies near the beginning, or more likely, are pushed to the side. I mean, if they keep Rook as the main character, then I assume Alette would take his place in Banner Saga 2, which would mean two entirely different protagonists. I don't think I'd mind much if this didn't significantly change the game/story(I mean, I would mind, but too much), at least, not as much as if Rook/Alette are pushed tot the side and forgotten about. I'm interested to see how they'll handle it...

Don't mind me, just waiting for someone else to play the game so I can actually talk to someone about stuff that happens in it.... I'd play it, if you bought it for me. I'm flat broke, selling steam trading cards and shit for scraps. Reading through this whole thread again; simply because I want to talk to people about it, I will buy it for you. Consider me... uh... like.... a guy who gives other people games for semi-selfish reasons. I don't know.
